First and foremost, we’d like to thank the voters of Madison County for your patience and your huge participation in this year’s election process. During the early/advance voting for the general election, we had 6,047 voters come through our office and during the general election runoff, in a three-day span, we served 1,299 voters. During these two elections, we mailed out a combined total of 1,279 absentee ballots. It was refreshing to see this kind of turnout and we thank you again for exercising your right to vote.
Next, we would like to thank Subway of Danielsville for providing lunch several days for our staff during the advance voting weeks.
Thirdly, many thanks to Ms. Linda Benton from MCHS for coordinating a group of students who volunteered time after school to assist our office. These students were very bright, personable and very eager to help in anyway that we asked. We would also like to thank Mr. Garry Venable, our county IT coordinator, who was most helpful by providing the technical support which allowed us to serve the voters more efficiently.
Last, we would like to thank Mr. Zach Mitcham and The Madison County Journal for their coverage of the election and informing the Madison County voters of all pertinent information regarding these elections.
Sincerely,
Tracy Dean, chief registrar
