LETTER: Thanks to fire departments for quick response

Dear Editor:

We want to take the opportunity to express my appreciation to the local volunteer fire departments from Hull, Ila, Sanford, and Shiloh, the Forestry Department, and any others who assisted in the response to a hay field fire off Hwy. 106 on Saturday, June 7.

We also wish to thank local community members for bringing cold drinks and wet towels which were much needed during the fire, dense smoke, and extremely hot temperatures. We are very grateful to each of you for your assistance and quick response.
