LETTER: Socialism on the rise in America

Dear Editor:

This country was founded on the dream of democracy for its citizens in a republic-style of government to escape the totalitarian rule of another government where the working citizens had no voice.

For hundreds of years America as we call it, has flourished and become the strongest freedom loving country in the known universe. This is where hardworking people could improve their way of life, which kept our country strong and free.

Let the history books of other countries show the decline of democracy and the rise of socialism in America. It has already begun, our new government intends to take from the working people and redistribute their hard-earned honest money to the “have-not” people. This is a Karl Marx plan, a communist or socialist way of life.

The reason I call on foreign history books instead of American history books is because such writings will not be allowed in America by a new socialist government.

Real Americans in secret meetings, can say “they” are not to blame, it was the sheep followers, the politically uneducated, the brainwashed class from government schools and colleges and the ones who know more about celebrities than their own government.

This can be avoided but it will take true red blooded Americans willing to give their own lives to re-establish freedom and protection for their own families. This will be their families. The will be their sacrifices for your freedom, you, their children and their children’s children.

I hope Americans wake up, not to protect our heritage.

This is my view of the future. Live free or die!

Whatever. Sure is better then where we were heading under Dictator Bush and Co. Tell you what, if you don't like it, move to a different country.

I don't think the present administration has intent on
taking hard earned money from our citizens, however I
think there is a good possibility that hedge fund managers
that make several hundred million dollars a year are going
to get the chance to pay their fair share of taxes. There
has been a shifting of the tax burden to the ones who can
least afford to pay taxes, it is definitely time that the
free riding millionares and billionares ante up their fair
share. I fought for and love my country, the economic
systems of socialism and capitalism both leave a lot to
be desired, if one loves freedom, then defend the constitution
and the bill of rights. Forget about partisan politics and
pray for your leaders to make good decision. We have just
witnessed the worst of capitalism by unbridled corporate
greed. I fear those the most that would consider our
constitution just a piece of paper. We need to hold our
elected officials accountable for their actions and vote
them out of office or prosecute them when they break the
law.

The Founders wanted to get rid of, or get away from, an evil King George.

Here in America today, we recently had another revolution to get rid of another evil King George.

Good work, fellow patriots! Yes we can! Yes we did! It was a long 8 years, and that evil King George ran our economy into the ground, but not our spirit! Our Consitution has meaning again!

The only way to make a country work is to add socialism with capitalism. It is the ying yang finding the righ balance is the key. In every hard time america has had we have envoked some type of socialism because it works it creates more money and hope for the poorer and dont forget we wanted to be free so that we wouldnt have to give the rich our money. we were poor and they wanted to take from us more than we could withstand so we fought. If you dont give the little guy a hand out he will push back and that is how most major counties fall. So socialism when used with capitalism works and is a key to keeping our country strong.

Just a few examples of "socialism:"

Public schools. In a capitalist country, all schools would be private and those who could afford an education would get it, free market style.

United States Military. In a capitalist country, all military activities would be carried out by the private sector, placing bids. Lowest qualified bidder gets the job, free market style.

Police. In a capitalist country, police services would be private, and those who could afford police, would get police, free market style.

Social Security. Obvious. Drawing your Social Security, Pappy? Better send that evil socialist money back!

Hospitals. Hey, here's one area where the good ole U S of A is heartily capitalist! You can't afford to go to the doctor? Well, tough! Free market is openly embraced in the U.S. in this area!

Road, Highways, Bridges. In a capitalist system, roads and bridges would be owned by private individuals, who would probably want a pretty penny, free market style. Can't afford $500 to cross my bridge? Tough. Turn around, or build your own bridge downstream somewhere.

Any and all laws regulating Food Service, Health, Workplace Safety, Child Labor, Environmental Protections, etc. Don't want salmonella in your peanut butter? Tough. You should not have bought it or analyzed it with your OWN microscope before you ate it. Want to inspect my feces infested food processor? Tough, I don't want to let you in. 7 year olds sure do work cheap! When all their fingers are gone, we just fire them and hire the 6 year olds. Don't like it? Tough. Don't buy our cheap shoes. You got sick at my restaurant? Tough.

Think about that evil socialism when you cash your social security check, Pappy. Think about that evil socialism when you drive on the highway. And when 10 men kick in your door with machine guns to steal that social security money, don't be a socialist and call the cops. Take it like a man. Take it like a capitalist...face down and bloody.

He's right. Why do we think we live in a capitalist society? We don't. Why aren't all of the examples he gave done by the private sector?

I dont think most of these hillbillys know what marxism or socialism is. It was forced in
ther tiny brains in the 60s-80s that russia and the maxists and socialism was going to takeover they dont even know what it is. In school they make it seem so bad to scare people well I guess bush had you so scared look it up and research it before you open your uneducated mouth about it.

For an example of "uneducated," I refer to the preceeding example where a person who can not write a short paragraph without making almost 20 grammatical errors.

I'm sorry to confuse you. I meant the college in Athens, not the shoddy public grade school system.

I know full well what socialism is. In a few years, if Obama, Pelosi and Reed get their way, you will know to, Comrade!
