The Madison County Sheriff’s Department responded to the following 911 calls: four rapes, five robberies, 46 aggravated assaults, 367 burglaries, 836 thefts, 150 auto thefts, six cases of arson, two motor vehicle accidents with fatalities, 158 motor vehicle accidents with injuries, 746 motor vehicle accidents without injuries, 234 911 hangups, 945 burglary/robbery alarms, 27 reports of child abuse/molestation, 544 reports of criminal damage to property, 26 deaths, 704 domestic disputes, 212 juvenile complaints, 617 reports of livestock on highway, 1,444 suspicious persons or vehicles, 3,661 traffic stops and 9,202 micscellaneous incidents.
Danielsville Police
Department
The Danielsville Police Department responded to the following 911 calls: two aggravated assaults, nine burglaries, 26 thefts, one auto thefts, cases of arson, six motor vehicle accidents with injuries, 56 motor vehicle accidents without injuries, two 911 hangups, 15 burglary/robbery alarms, 15 reports of criminal damage to property, four domestic disputes, 30 juvenile complaints, two reports of livestock on highway, 39 suspicious persons or vehicles, 211 traffic stops and 377 micscellaneous incidents.
Comer Police Department
The Comer Police Department responded to the following 911 calls: two rapes, two robberies, two aggravated assaults, 12 burglaries, 24 thefts, six auto thefts, five motor vehicle accidents with injuries, 28 motor vehicle accidents without injuries, eight 911 hangups, 28 burglary/robbery alarms, one report of child abuse/molestation, 25 reports of criminal damage to property, one death, 32 domestic disputes, nine juvenile complaints, five reports of livestock on highway, 84 suspicious persons or vehicles, 618 traffic stops and 648 miscellaneous incidents.
EMS
Madison County Emergency Medical Services responded to the following 911 calls in 2008: 271 motor vehicle accidents, 60 reports of abdominal pain, 22 allergic reactions, 13 animal bites, 31 assaults, 83 reports of bleeding or hemorrhaging, seven burns, 11 reports of cardiac/respiratory arrest, 334 reports of chest pain, 10 reports of choking, 13 deaths, 88 reports of diabetic complications, seven reports of exposure to elements, 218 falls, 87 fire standby, 19 fractures, 836 general sickness/illness, 42 high/low blood pressure reports, 47 medical alarms, 28 OB/GYN calls, 24 overdoses, 122 pain — unknown problems, 64 passed out, two poisonings, 49 public assist calls, 114 seizures, 265 calls of shortness of breath, 56 strokes, 42 suicides or threats of, 20 traumatic injuries and 54 unresponsive patients.
FIRE
Madison County’s 11 volunteer fire departments received the following 911 calls: 198 motor vehicle accidents, nine controlled burns (out of control), five dumpster/trash fires, 91 fire alarms, 26 gas/fuel leak or fires, 169 grass/wood fires, 17 illegal burns, seven severe weather details, 51 smoke or smell of smoke/burning material, 90 structure fires and 45 vehicle fires.
RESCUE
Madison County Rescue received the following 911 calls:
•Rescue Unit 1 (Danielsville): 85 motor vehicle accident, six assist EMS and three lost person calls.
•Rescue Unit 2 (Comer): 41 motor vehicle accidents, three assist EMS and two lost person calls.
•Rescue Unit 3 (Ila): 45 motor vehicle accidents, two assist EMS, two lost person calls and one power/phone line down.
•Rescue Unit 4 (Hull): 58 motor vehicle accidents and one assist EMS call.
