Several paint ball guns and other paint ball equipment were allegedly taken from a paint ball field on Neese Commerce Road recently. The guns and equipment were valued at a total of $4,250.
In another incident, aggravated assault was reported on Farm Road in Colbert last week, after deputies were summoned to a fight at a residence there.
The victim told deputy Jeff Vaughn that he had been struck twice with a shovel, once on the hand (the deputy noted a small laceration on his right thumb) and once on his left hip.
A warrant was issued for Keith Marcell Chapel, 44, 349 Farm Road, Colbert, regarding the incident.
In a third incident, a small safe containing jewelry, cash and a small jewelry box, along with a blue Lego box containing multiple medications was reported stolen from a home on Mathis Road. The items were valued at $4,000.
Other incidents on file at the sheriff’s office last week included:
•Arson in the third degree was reported on Adams Road (off Booger Hill Road) after Ila Volunteer firefighters were called to the scene of wood fires in the area four separate times in one evening, according to fire chief Rudolph Nix. No structures were involved and no one was injured, Nix said.
•Battery FVA (Family Violence Act) was reported on Hwy. 29 South Lot 24 near Colbert when a woman reported a dispute with her live-in boyfriend. According to the incident report, the woman reported that she and her boyfriend got into an argument over a phone call, which turned into a physical confrontation and resulted in her being hit over the head and scratched on her arm.
•Battery FVA was reported on Blacks Creek Church Road when a woman reported that her ex-boyfriend had slapped her in the face and choked her. Deputy Rex Matthews did not notice any physical evidence or marks or scratches on the woman at the time of the report and medical treatment was refused. She was advised of the warrant process.
•Battery FVA was reported on Old Elberton Road last week involving a male juvenile and his mother. Based on the investigation of Deputy Douglas Martin, the juvenile was arrested and charged with battery.
