Jerry Coutant has been named “Rotarian of the Year.”
Rotary leaders said that Coutant “works hard at everything he does in Rotary and he does a great deal.”
He shows up and works on every ramp that Rotarians build. He has spearheaded the four-prong literacy program that Rotary supports consisting of the Dictionary Project, the Ferst Foundation support, the reading to children in elementary school, and the middle school gift certificate for reading program.
He attends district and international conferences, is a past president and is currently vice president looking toward his second presidency in 2010.
