An Athens man was arrested last week following the violation of a temporary protection order (TPO).
Ronnie Gene Scogin, 39, of 109 Fox Trail, was charged with one count each of violation of a family violence order and possession, manufacture, distribution, etc. VGCSA.
According to the incident report, Deputy John Smith responded to Fox Trail where he found Scogin, who was not suppose to be at that address. Smith placed him under arrest and charged him with aggravated stalking. After arrival at the jail, Deputy Smith received a call from the offender’s stepson, who stated that he had found crack rock and a pipe in the pocket of the pants that his stepfather took off before he was transported to the jail. Smith picked up the evidence, which was field tested as cocaine and the stepson agreed to sign a witness statement.
In another incident, Quinonez Jose A Rodriguez, 35, of 273 J. Highland Circle, was charged with one count of simple battery after a domestic call to his home last week.
According to the incident report, the man’s wife reported a domestic dispute between herself and her husband (Rodriguez). Based on the deputy’s investigation, Rodriguez was taken into custody.
