Dear Editor:

The Declaration of Independence states that if “our government with a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces or designed to reduce them (us) under absolute despotism…”

In other words, if the federal government tries to hold office by force or without right and to rule with unlimited powers, the people have the right and the duty to throw off such a government and to provide new guards for our security. The federal government includes all those three branches: executive, legislative and judicial. This federal government is trying to redefine our Constitution (with their view to changes) so its interpretation will be more aligned to world decision by foreign governments.

Such would be the case of our Constitution and America’s taking a back seat to the Order of the World court, as America now takes a back seat by order of the United Nations. The U.N. dictates and demands the amount of money they want from the U.S.A. and openly shows their dislike of the U.S.A. Most countries in the U.N. openly hate the U.S.A. it is time the U.N. moves out of the U.S.A. and U.S.A. gets out of the U.N.!

It is time to place term limits on all federal branches. The executive to one six-year term including all of their executive branch appointees. The Congress (legislative branch) will be limited to one six-year term and forbidden to hold any federal office after their term expires (this is for Senate, for House of Representatives. They serve two two-year terms after which they can not hold any federal office. The judiciary will hold various terms and limits. The Supreme Court will hold a lifetime appointment until their 65th birthday then are automatically retired. All other federal judges will serve one five-to-10-year term after which they cannot hold any federal office. All appointees to the federal government who rule by their own decree who think they answer to no one but themselves because they aren’t up for election shall serve a four-year term, not eligible for a re-appointment and can be removed from office by congress at its discretion.

The time is now for the sake of America, our USA, to implement the dictates of the Declaration and replace 100 percent of the federal government using our Constitution as our weapon. This is my opinion on how to save America.

LOL! Too funny! Pappy accuses others of trying to "redefine our Constitution," but, with his suggestions for rewriting how our representatives serve and completely rewriting how Supreme Court justices serve, he is actually the one trying to REWRITE the Constitution!

Dude, if you're worried about "saving" the Constitution, it's actually crazy people like YOURSELF who are threatening the Constitution.

Here's an idea: run for office, "Pappy" and see how many proud Americans agree with your ideas. Hope you have a good, loyal, faithful dog. Otherwise it may be a little lonely on election night.

I agree with Mr Skinner 100% !!
We have allowed our Constitution to be deminished!
The Government has no power over us ,unless we give it to them or sit and do nothing as they usurp it themselves .
To those who do not understand the History of not only our world but also our country , I have only two things to say.
1 being that sometimes it might be better to remain silent a let people think you are a fool ,or you can open your mouth and remove all doubt. 2 A one eyed man in a world full of blind people is surely King. Right On Pappy ! To Mr Anonymous to be a true Amercian you must first believe as Patrick Henery did .
Although I may find all you have to say disgusting offensive and vile I will defend your right to say it with my life ! Are you willing to do the same for me? If not I doubt you are a true American . You see if we dont all have Equal Justice and Liberty under our Laws and Constitutional System then no one does. I also know it to be true atleast from where I stand the motto of our founders and our Military today, and thats Dont tread On Me !! I am a citizen of the United States of America with total discuss of our system - the faults are too many and corrupt! There is no longer true representation of the people and may be time to over through the existing political powers. I have served my country through military dedication and through paying taxes. Why is it that our elected congressmen and senators - those elected by the people do not have to follow the same policies set forth for the very people that elected them? This puts them outside the very laws and support they were elected to represent - the people. Our government no longer is representative of the peoples but of themselves with total disregard of the population.

Well I think he is right, its time we take a stand against the rich that are running are country. Big business is running are country, not us. If we keep voting for career politicians this is going to keep happening. The American have become to lazy, and to worried about losing there fancy cars and homes, to do any fighting accept for a few like myself. I am ready for the fighting in the streets against the rich that are running are country. The little man has no chance anymore in such a corrupt country as the US. We need to start to organize and get ready for the next revolution.

I agree with Mr. Skinner in the idea that our government needs "change". It is out of control with power abuses, scandals, etc... I believe that this change should be done with in the scope of the constitutions powers so as not to subvert the constitution as it is a solid document and not a "living breathing document" as some others would like for us to believe. This change however must come from the people/voters. Unfortunately, as seen in our last election, celebrity worship and emotions won out over logic and facts. On average, the voters that put our new prez in office probably could not tell us what the three branches of government are must less what our constitution stands for. They can not tell you what party is in charge of congress now. These are typical democrats. Unfortunate, indeed, Mr. Skinner.

Marx, Engels, Lenin and Trotsky would consider our country almost completely capitalistic. The sky is not falling, the economy will eventually rebound. The news media increases their ratings by inciting their listeners.

If you want a real cause, we have eighteen veterans committing suicide every day. These are our children that we sent to war and were traumatized with PTSD. We are allowing our children who gave us so much in risking their lives to go without treatment by and inept and understaffed veterans administration. God bless America, thanks veterans.

I to believe the conservative christian values this country was founded upon have been under assault for decades. It seems to be progressing even faster these days. Our last administration was to expansive for me. The Obama administration is pushing for more and more government programs as well as exponentially expanding the current programs. Check out this article that is a couple of years old, remember government WILL NEVER relinquish its power or funding from us! It will have to be taken, by us U.S. citizens.

Look closely at some of the European nations that are already 20 years ahead of us in the areas of big (socialist) government. You will see higher inflation, taxation, unemployment, and I could go on and on. I see a time when the masses will come to a divide. People like me who work hard and want to keep what is mine for my family. Then you will have the entitlement group. This is the group that demands everything and produces nothing. Of these 2 groups, which one has our government catered to. Will it change for my children's

I agree with Mr. Skinner and I say it is time to stand up to our socialist type government officials and remind them who it was that hired them. They are no more than public ser-vants and they are trying to perpetrate a sense of superiority. We have the right to tear down our government and rebuild it on the foundations of our fathers. We were found on the principals of a republic not a democracy as a matter of fact our forefathers warned against us ever allowing our government to become a democracy but rather if it did to tear it down and rebuild it. We have become a democracy and a democracy stands for big business which is evident in the bailouts and is no more than communism at its best. Stand up and be heard, we need to sound the alarm from the church house to the white house and let them know we refuse to take anymore of their socialist tactics and their governmental programs. I say send it back to Leningrad where it came from, we abso-lutely can not allow the liberal minority to out talk and out represent the conservative ma-jority. How is it that a few can accomplish more than the many, think about it and then ask yourself if you want to take back America and put her back on the right track. Kick the UN out and any other third world foreign entity and mark our debts as paid. GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and keep HER STRONG AND STEADFAST.

I agree with Skinner. Time to get rid of the bums. I like the single term idea - that would resolve a lot of the ridiculous politics and power games that are destroying our national economy associated with reelecting the bums.

I agree with this guy. we have no constitutional rights anymore. we have no freedom of speech, we have no freedom of assembly, we have no rights to keep and bear arms anymore. nobody is equal anymore. The freakin' government is takin' control, and what the inferno are we doin' about it? Nothin'!the leaders come in and take ultimate power, and what do we do about it? Nothin'! they come in and let the illegal immigrants get drivers liscenses, buy guns, and SUCK ON OUR TAX MONEY LIKE THERE'S NO TOMORROW. What do we do about it? Nothin'!
they give the indians hundreds of acres of land that I like to call "racist reservations", FOR THE CERTAIN COLOR OF PEOPLE THAT ARE BETTER THAN THE AVERAGE HARDWORKIN' MAN! And we just sit around and let them do it! they use the excuse "well we took their stuff". ok! we took their stuff! YOU DO NOT FIGHT RACISM WITH MORE RACISM! YOU FIGHT IT WITH EQUALISM! They will hire the black man and the woman over every other type! they give the indians tax breaks all the time! Congress passes all of Obama's new stuff because they are afraid of looking racist! Obama has had good laws passed, BUT HE HAS PASSED BAD LAWS TOO! and we are just sitting here and letting it happen because we are so fat we can't even get off the couch and do somethin'! we got the bums sit around and thake the food cards to buy food, AND INSTEAD THEY SELL IT TO BUY BEER! they sit around being completely unproductive. isn't it so easy to go and get a job at the nearest mcdonalds or walmart? it's so freakin' easy! and it's not like there are many places that want to hire! you could make a good living off of a mcdonald's, you could at least buy a mobile home! the government should give them one year to find a job, and if they don't? The only thing our Constitution was ever missing was the people should have always had the power to replace the government in control by way of a vote of confidence. That means any of the branches of government not performing its responsible duties could be voted out of office at anytime. Now is the time for all the people to come to the aid of their country. We must put men of moral and high integrity in these offices start electing the poor man and we will see change.

a question i have is. i work 50 hours a week and can not afford to buy the medication i need. Insurance for the the working people, no good . yet congress and the senate get it free your life. what's wrong with this picture.

Hello. Interesting thread. I believe there are millions of those who believe as we do and are waiting for that one spark..or leader who will ignite that spark. We have been waiting patiently working within the elections to affect changes. But at what point do we ask ourselves; has the Federal Government reached the absolute Despotism and Tyranny described in the Declaration? Are the Laws and systems valid or moral enough that we respect their authority given by the Constitution? At what point is obeying the prescribed system actually an act of submission and cowardice and not loyalty to the Constitution? Then I propose elections would not be valid as well since the system is corrupt and no one has replaced the system.

Some have said the WWII generation is the greatest generation and I have agreed until now. We and our like minded citizens, and our children are now the future guards. Never have we faced a threat as bold as this. We can bring ourselves down from within easier than a mighty outside force. That is the greatest threat.
