A Danielsville man was arrested after he allegedly struck his 20-year old stepson during an argument at their home.
Steven Lavern Shelnut, 44, 605 Roger’s Mill Road, was charged with one count each of simple battery FVA and criminal trespass.
According to the incident report, Deputy James Reavis responded to the scene where Shelnut’s stepson told him that Shelnut had “got in his face” then pushed him into a truck and threw an object into the truck breaking a window. Shelnut had left the residence when Reavis arrived, but came walking back down the driveway after he left. Deputy Reavis then returned to the scene, where he found Shelnut lying on the floor of the house with scratches all over his body and a strong smell of alcohol. Mr. Shelnut said he had consumed “only a few beers” and denied the whole incident with his stepson. He said he received the scratches from getting in briars.
Shelnut was transported to the Madison County Jail.
