Two Bowman men were arrested recently after a deputy was summoned to Paoli Road near Noble Road in Carlton where two “suspicious” males were in the road near a residence there.
When Lt. Jeff Vaughn arrived, one of the men, later identified as Michael Eugene Koch, 50, of 51 Cedar Street, was lying in the road. Koch reportedly began to “cuss and argue” when Vaughn made contact with him, telling the deputy that it was a “free world and that he (Vaughn) should leave him the @#$% alone.”
He also stated he could sleep in the roadway if he wanted to and began to pull away and fight. Deputy Vaughn noted a strong smell of alcohol and subdued him with an arm bar hold and took him into custody without further altercation.
A second man, Carroll Anthony Funkhouser, 42, of 51 Segars Street, was found sitting on the white line. He told Lt. Vaughn he was drinking too, but that he did not want to fight.
Both were charged with one count each of pedestrian under the influence and taken to the Madison County Jail.
In another incident, a woman on Woodale Street in Hull reported that when she arrived home from the store, her husband started yelling at her and that he does this often. Her husband stated that she began yelling at him for no reason. The husband then went home with his parents for the rest of the weekend to “allow his wife some space.”
Deputy Tommy Williams noted that there was no evidence of any violence except yelling at one another.
In a similar incident, Deputy Matthew Pilkington was summoned to a residence on Rocky Branch Hollow Road when a man reported that his wife would not let him get his tools out of a car in the yard so he could go to a job.
The woman told Pilkington that her husband had gotten a DUI in the past and that she “did not want him to drive any of her cars.” She stated that she would not leave until her husband’s boss came and picked him up for work.

Ha ha ha ha sorry but the story about the 2 guys arrested for pedestrians under the influence is funny. I would have told the guy if he was stupid enough to lay in the middle of the road to go right ahead but when he got run over don't go crying about it when he woke up dead. And the second guy where did he get a name like Funkhouser? Ha ha That's like Snodgrass.Sorry that is just to funny
Hold on there Madison County Resident. There was a great actress named Carrie Snodgrass, or maybe she spelled it Snodgress. She starred in the film Diary Of A Mad Housewife and some other things. Just as she was approaching the peak of stardom just quit acting to live with rock star Neil Young. Sadly, she passed away a few years ago.

I don't know about that. I have heard of the movie by Tyler Perry "Diary of a mad black woman" which was about as funny as this story.
