LETTER: Says government authored the ‘book of greed’

It seems like the government just wants to waste more money by building hybrid and battery-powered cars, which will cost the U.S. more money in the long run. Why can’t we just use some good-old common sense?

Change our work schedule. Instead of everyone on the road at the same time — and I believe the work places will go along with it — divide up the difference. Some go to work at 6, 7, 8, 9 and even 10 a.m. There will be money saved. Less gas being used, less accidents, less pollution, less road rage and less time wasted in the stop-and-go traffic. Your engine gets a lot more miles on it that the speedometer says just by sitting in traffic. These big rigs burn more fuel than you think by having to stop and start so much, especially when loaded.

The government has thrown away the Bible and wrote its own book called the book of greed. The Bible says “men will perish for lack of knowledge.” I wonder what the book of greed says.
