The owner of the Danielsville BP store reported the theft of approximately $10,000 in lottery tickets recently.
According to the incident report, the owner reportedly confronted a former employee, who admitted to the theft and wrote a statement to that effect. She also implicated another individual who she said was assisting in the theft. The incident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office and the Georgia Lottery.
In another incident, Deputy David Kidd responded to a 911 hang up at EMS Station 1 last week where he encountered a woman who said she had been bitten by a dog on her right lower leg and was wanting to someone to check the injury for her. The deputy photographed the wound, which was bleeding slightly and the woman then told him she would go to BJC Hospital to have the wound checked. The deputy went to a Jot-Em-Down Road residence where the woman said she had been bitten and found the dog, which made several attempts to bite him, the deputy noted. Animal control officer Jack Huff was called to the scene and he noted that the dog appeared to have a rabies tag and was staying in the yard. No one was at the residence, and Huff said he would try to make contact again the following day.
In another incident, harassing phone calls were reported on Hardman Morris Road when a teen reported that a woman she knows had called and left threatening messages on her cell phone and on her MySpace page. When the teen’s mother called the woman, she repeated the threats to her. As Deputy David Kidd was taking the report, the woman called again and Kidd answered the phone, telling the woman not to call anymore or to come to their residence anymore.
About the woman that was bitten by the dog? If the dog had a rabies tag,was current on all it's shots, and was in it's owners yard then the owner is not responsible are they?
