Aggravated battery was reported on Hwy. 72 West recently when a Hull woman reported that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend.
According to the incident report, the woman told deputy Jeff Strickland that she went to her boyfriend’s home on Old Elberton Road to wait for him to return home. When he did return home, he was reportedly intoxicated and thought his girlfriend had been sleeping with his friend. He then began to strike the woman in the face with his fist causing swelling and lacerations to her right eye. As she ran to her vehicle and got inside it to leave, the boyfriend allegedly followed her and opened the door, attempting to drag her out, causing lacerations on her feet and ankles. As she attempted to fight him off, he reportedly slammed the door on her left arm, causing the bone in her upper forearm to break. The woman was transported to Athens Regional for treatment. The boyfriend was unable to be located immediately, but warrants have been filed for his arrest.
In another incident, a Hull man reported that he had been assaulted by two men.
According to the incident report, he and a woman at his residence on Sweetgum Alley stated that someone was walking around in his yard and that they went outside to see who it was. They did not see anyone, so they went walking around the neighborhood. When they got to the intersection of Glenn Carrie Road and Grady Drive, the man said they saw two men known to him standing in a yard there. When the man spoke to the subjects, he told Deputy Jeff Strickland that they began beating him up. Strickland observed a small amount of blood on the victim’s ear. At that point, the man said, he was able to get away from them and call 911.
Deputy Strickland then located the two alleged assailants on Glenn Carrie Road, where they stated they were in their yard when the man began cursing and yelling at them. When they went to see what he was yelling about, he allegedly slapped one of the men on the side of the head, at which point one of the men struck him back and then he was reportedly told to leave. They struck each other several more times, before the man and woman left and went back to the residence on Sweetgum Alley.
Most people would say this relationship is over? But she probably won't even want to press charges because she loves him?
