Colbert man faces family violence charge
A Colbert man was arrested recently after allegedly attacking his girlfriend.
Tivaro Tyquan Cooper, 22, 599 Farm Road, was charged with one count of battery FVA.
According to the incident report, three deputies responded to a call on McCarty Dodd Road and met with the complainant, who said she and her boyfriend got into an argument that escalated, with Cooper grabbing her hair and pushing her on the ground, and that she left the residence to call police. On the roadway, the woman stated that Cooper then pushed her on the ground and stood on her chest. Deputy Gary Floyd reported that he and EMS workers could clearly see fight marks on various parts of her body. She complained of chest pain and was transported to Athens Regional by EMS.
Cooper stated that his girlfriend “hit herself” and that she “is crazy.” Cooper had a small scratch on his left side that he said came from his girlfriend. The two are unmarried but have lived in the same household and have a three-month old child together who was at the residence during the altercation, according to the report.
In another arrest, a Hull man was charged with obstruction after deputies came to his home to serve civil papers.
Jonathan Bazaluda Reyna, 24, 84 Sweetgum Alley, was charged with obstruction of an officer after he jumped out of a bathroom window and ran from the residence to avoid officers.
