Warrants for stalking will likely be issued for a man who allegedly threatened his soon-to-be ex-wife by phone and text message last week.
A woman on Hwy. 106 South told Deputy Michael Moore that her husband, whom she is divorcing, has been calling and texting her, making threats.
The man reportedly left a message on her phone, stating that “if things didn’t go his way in court, he was going to get her where it hurts the most.” He stated it would be the daycare she owns, according to the report. He also stated he “would love to go to jail if he could @#$% her up.” The deputy noted that the woman already has a restraining order and that he will obtaining warrants for the husband’s arrest.
In another incident, Deputy David Kidd was dispatched last week to a call about an elderly woman in a wheelchair in the road.
Kidd found the woman just north of Old Ila Road near Ila. The woman told Kidd that she had been on her way to the store in her power chair to call 911. The woman said she and Shane Fredrick Yerdon, a man hired to look after her and her husband, had gotten into an argument and he had knocked the phone out of her hand as she attempted to call 911.
This incident stemmed from a previous one Deputy Kidd noted. The deputy said he had spoken with the woman several days prior to this about two missing female juveniles, one of whom is Yerdon’s girlfriend. The girls were located at another residence that day visiting with Yerdon. Deputy Kidd instructed the woman and Yerdon at that time to call him if the girls made contact with Yerdon again. The girls had made several calls to Yerdon on this day and he and woman began to argue when she attempted to call 911. Yerdon had allegedly knocked the phone out of her hand, injuring it.
While Kidd was speaking with her, Yerdon came to their location. He told Deputy Kidd that the woman was mad and had been “acting up all day.” Yerdon said he took the phone from her hand but that she hurt it because she was throwing things at him. Yerdon was then arrested. While searching him, Deputy Kidd found a small plastic baggie in a pocket containing suspected marijuana.
Yerdon, 24, whose address listed as 166 Sherwood Circle, Danielsville, was charged with one count of battery FVA, interference with a 911 call and possession of marijuana.
In a similar incident, a woman on Stoy Smith Road told Deputy Douglas Martin that a neighbor came over to ask to borrow her vehicle. The woman said she smelled alcohol on the man and refused to allow him to borrow it. An argument ensued, with the man threatening bodily harm and using profanity towards her in the presence of her 13-year old son. As she attempted to call 911, the man reportedly knocked the phone out of her hand and as he left the residence, he slammed the door behind him, causing the blinds to fall. Once outside, he reportedly continued to yell profanity and make threats. The suspect had left by the time the deputy arrived.
Deputy Martin advised the woman of the warrant process to obtain a protective order.
In another incident, first degree child cruelty was reported on McGinnis Chandler Road last week when a man and his ex-wife reported that her boyfriend had allegedly struck their 4-year-old son just underneath his left eye with a half full 20-ounce Sprite bottle. The child’s mother stated that she and her boyfriend were arguing when the incident occurred. Both the father and mother stated they wanted the man prosecuted, saying they will not tolerate someone causing harm to the child.
everyone and the "I care" statement everyone can
see right thru it, you are so full of it Madison County
Resident! You spend too much time on the computer
longing for attention I guess, don't you know everyone
is sick of you? Athens paper has comments all over it '
from you boy do you give MC a bad name. Change your
name, get MC out of it you are such a waste!
you really change your name a lot.
If you are smart (NOT) you should find out if anyone
already has your "code" name prior to posting anything,
if you have ever been on these blogs you'd know that
name has been around for a while.. And who cares if you
care?
But when you catch one of their mistakes they get mad and say their mistakes don't matter because you knew what they were talking about.
I'll quote an old saying here "If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck chances are it is a duck" For you small minded people that means if YOU act stupid and talk stupid you probably are stupid and alot of you peoples comments towards me and others make yall souund pretty stupid.
These blogs seem to turn into an argument all the time, what is the Deal here?
Everyone has a right to express their opinion and discuss it in a calm and peaceful way.
Name calling and insults are part of the reason for the problems within the county government, let's leave it there.
People that are disabled are not leaching off the government. Trust me when I say that it is very difficult to get any help at all when you are on SSD because it is considered income and that is not right because it is not enough to live on.
Some family members put themselves in debt to help my son because NO ONE else would.
AS far as food stamps I have not applied because if I can make it on my own I want too. I am not looking for a hand out or pitty from nobody.
Again, if you can get by without help that is good but if you need it, get it. There is no shame in getting help in your position.
I can understand your frustration but just hold your head up and do what you need to to survive.
My best wishes to you. You are a survivor.
If it gets to the point where I need help I will ask for it because if I let my family go hungry I wouldn't be much of a man.
People that I talk to and tell about my accident say I'm a survivor but I don't usually don't like to be described like that I just want to be treated like everyone else. I don't want NO special treatment and I AM NOT looking for a hand out BUT there is some people on here when I posted a comment saying I didn't work the just assumed I was sorry they didn't ask why I didn't work or nothing they just assume I live off their tax dollars and I get food stamps and all this other goverment help and sometimes I wonder how they would feel to know they had to take 5 different pills every morning just to function normal then have to take a sleeping pill just to go to sleep because if I don't take the sleeping pills I don't sleep at all.
And I just want to say I didn't ask for the life I was given I made a mistake and tried to drive while sleepy and have been paying for it every day since Feb.18 1998 and will be paying for it for the rest of my life. So after my mistake I got a second chance at life and I am just trying to live it.
There are a lot of disabled people working but they may not have your injuries. You may look perfectly fine but there are internal injuries that do not heal as well as external. People need to make sure they have the facts about why someone is not working but at the same time, it is none of their business.
The man that threatened to kill his wife needs to go to jail for a while. People go to jail for making threats like that.
Yes the man who made these threats needs to go to jail for a long time. They say words don't hurt but if someone files charges on you for your words and they have proof you said them they can put you in jail for a long time.
So I'll say it again before you pass Judgement on somebody and call them sorry YOU NEED TO FIND OUT WHAT HE IS ALL ABOUT.
Some people do not need for you to make judgments for them, they speak loud and clear.
