BOE provides notice of retreat

The Madison County Board of Education (BOE) will hold its annual retreat Saturday at 1019 River Road Cleveland, GA from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The tentative agenda is as follows:
•Welcome and introductions by James Patton (chairman) and Mitch McGhee (superintendent).
•Planning overview by Jim Puckett, Georgia School Boards Association.
•Review and update of BOE goals.
•Review and status update of the school system strategic plan
•Next steps.
•Board-superintendent Roles and responsibilities.
•Superintendent evaluation.
•Adjourn
Note: McGhee said at the BOE’s Aug. 11 meeting that the retreat location in Cleveland was free of charge to the school board.
