Danielsville couple’s fight turns violent

Otis Gene Riden, 39, and Buffie Latrice Bolton, 37, both of 3233 Colbert-Danielsville Road, Danielsville, were each charged with one count of simple battery.

According to the incident report, Riden summoned deputies to the Bread Basket in Colbert to report the altercation. Riden said he and his wife got into an argument about money and bills on their way home from Commerce. Riden said while he was driving, his wife began to hit and scratch him in the face and that she put the moving vehicle in park, almost causing him to lose control of it.

When they arrived at their residence, Ms. Bolton allegedly grabbed a bat (which is kept in their vehicle) and broke the vehicle’s windows. As Riden attempted to grab her, she reportedly struck him in the ribs. He had visible injuries to this right and left cheeks, his right eye was swollen and he had a large scratch on his neck. When deputies made contact with Ms. Bolton, she said she was the one attacked and pointed out a small scratch on her left arm and one on her right arm and a cut on the inside of her upper lip. Both were arrested and taken to jail, where photos were taken of their injuries.
