Man faces family violence charges
A Danielsville man faced family violence charges recently after deputies were called to a domestic dispute at his home.
James Thomas Adams, 34, 3269 Rogers Mill Road, was charged with one count each of cruelty to children in the first degree, cruelty to children in the third degree and battery FVA.
According to the incident, deputies met with his wife, who stated that her husband came home intoxicated and was going to sleep in their 11-year old son’s room, while the boy went to his parents’ room to sleep. The woman said her son was “giving her a hard time” and not following instructions when Adams came after the boy in a “very aggressive manner.” She told deputies she stepped between Adams and the boy, pushing her husband and causing him to fall backwards into the bathtub. When Adams got up he allegedly began choking his wife with both hands and backed her into a corner. The boy then began to strike his father in the back with his fist. Adams allegedly turned and struck the boy in the back of the head with a closed fist, causing him to fall to the floor, face first. The boy’s head struck the metal bed frame as he fell, causing a large welt to form at this temple. The boy reportedly got up and ran to his grandparents’ home next door. A female juvenile, also in the bedroom, witnessed the entire event, according to the report. All injuries were photographed.
Deputies Jeff Kidd and David Vaughn found Adams in the basement of his home, intoxicated. Adams said he was defending himself against his son because he is almost a teenager. Adams was placed under arrest and taken to the Madison County Jail.
In another arrest, David Dinh, 27, of 194 Hummingbird Lane, Comer, was charged with one count each of battery FVA and simple battery FVA after deputies were dispatched to his home regarding a fight.
According to the incident report, a woman at the residence told deputies that her son (Dinh) had pushed her this morning after he asked her if she had “ate all the food.” The woman went and told her husband, who confronted Dinh. Dinh reportedly hit the man, causing his nose to bleed.
