Danielsville convenience store robbed

A lone gunman reportedly robbed the Danielsville Corner Store on General Daniel Avenue North in Danielsville about 11 p.m. Oct. 10.

According to the incident report, a female clerk was alone in the store, preparing to close up, when a white male wearing “Realtree” type camo pants and zip up jacket, a camo mask and black gloves entered the store.

The clerk told deputies she was not at the register at the time but was at a cooler and when she saw the man, he was already behind the counter at the cash register. The key, she reported, was in the register as she was about to close up.

The man allegedly pointed a short, blue barrel revolver at her and told her to “get on the ground.” He told her to “crawl to the back of the store or he would kill her.” The suspect then allegedly opened the register and took a stack of cash, as well as more than $1,000 worth of phone cards, and then left on foot. When the clerk heard the door chime as the man left, she used her cell phone to call 911.

The man was described as 5’10” and of medium build.

This robber was pretty smart dressing in camo because nobody thinks to question a man wearing camo during deer season? When he starts down the road pull the mask and gloves off.

I would be willing to bet that this person either lives in the neighborhood behind the store or is a frequent visitor in that neighborhood.

Yes I would bet he has been in that store a number of times and bought stuff? He knew just when there would be only one person there and I'd bet he knew her by name and knew how easy it would be this wasn't a random store robbery he scouted the store before he decided to go in and rob it.

As a matter of fact, the only time there are more than one person in that store working it is at shift change. The people that work there are extremely friendly with everyone so it is very possible they knew the name of the one working. I happen to know the owner and his wife as well as the other employees and I also know how the neighborhood behind the store is.

Yes Former MC Resident- the people that work there are very friendly and when a stranger goes in there the employees make them feel like they have known and have been friends for a while. I have heard different stories about that robbery and one was that they thought the store was robbed by someone not from Madison County and they were just driving through Danielsville? I said no they needed to look closer to the scene of the crime, the robber knew to much information. Whoever it was lives in the County and has been in that store before. I said I would start looking at the neighborhood behind the store first. I know for a fact that neighborhood is bad news. I worked with a guy that lived behind the store and I have been at his house when the law came in that neighbor hood to arrest someone. We have been sitting in his house at night when the idiots start shooting guns. I was a little freaked out by that but he said that happened about every night or at least once a weekend.

The top road in that nieghborhood should be called "Iceland", because that's where the majority of the drugs originate from. I was told recently that the phone cards that were stolen from the store are bing traded for drugs at one particular residence in that nieghborhood and I know the people that live at that residence. They all fit the profile of someone capable of having something to do with that robbery. As far as them shooting guns, I know that to be a fact too, but when I was there, Clayton Lowe was sheriff and the officers always took their time getting there when they were needed. I hope the new sheriff and his officers will do a better job at cleaning that sespool up.
Please don't get me wrong though...there are a "few" people that live there that are really decent, but none on that top road.

Yes Former MC Resident I know there are decent people who live in that neighborhood but the thing that I think keeps them there is alot of the good folks that live there can't afford to move, because the rent is cheap and they can't find no where else that cheap that is better? The few people there that are selling the drugs and running it down don't care if it becomes a Ghetto and that's what that neighborhood is know as. THE DANIELSVILLE GHETTO.
