Colbert man charged with illegal reproduction of recorded material

Derek Spencer Morton, 44, was also charged with possession of marijuana less than an ounce and four counts of possession of arms by a convicted felon.

According to the incident report, a search warrant was executed by the sheriff’s office and the Piedmont Northern MANS unit and the Athens-Clarke County police department on May 23. The search resulted in the seizure of several hundred counterfeit CDs and DVDs, equipment used in the manufacturing of the counterfeit items, several firearms and a quantity of marijuana.

In another arrest, a man was charged, for the second time, for fishing illegally in a lake owned by Sheriff Clayton Lowe. He was also found to be in possession with a number of illegal prescription drugs.
