A Bowman woman was charged with driving under the influence after a deputy was dispatched to Hwy. 172 and Hwy. 98 (Paoli Junction) about a reckless driver.
Maria Annette Buffington, 36, 150 East Church Street, was charged with one count each of DUI and improper passing.
Deputy Mark Jerome followed Buffington’s vehicle across Hwy. 98 onto Hwy. 172 towards Elbert County and noted that the vehicle could not maintain lane. When Deputy Jerome activated his blue lights, the vehicle came to a stop in the middle of the road. The driver, Buffington, stated that she had spilled her boiled peanuts in her lap. Deputy Jerome noted that there was no smell of alcohol, though her speech was slurred and her eyes were pinpointed. While begin booked, Buffington allegedly told the booking officer that she had taken a Lortab that morning.

•Amanda Nichole Roberts, 24, 2796 Hardman Morris Road, Colbert, battery FVA and cruelty to children.
•Charles Elic Watkins, 37, 657 Sawdust Road, Hull, probation violation (original charge: possession of methamphetamine).
•Terence Maurice Campbell, 31, 127 Ramble Hills Way, Athens, bench warrant.
•Jerry William Cooper, 58, 703 Clover Avenue, Comer, two counts of probation violation.
•Clint Lee Flanigan, 34, 803 Willis Glenn Road, Hull, burglary, theft by taking and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.

•Nancy Ibarra, 25, 1438 East Broad Street, Athens, deposit account fraud.
•Corbin Brent Kittle, 36, 247 Crabapple Hollow Road, Hull, theft by taking, burglary and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.
