LETTER: Thanks sheriff for kindness, patience

Dear Editor:

We received one of those phone calls May 3 that parents world wide dread … “Mama, I wrecked my car!” as the tears flowed.

Our 18-year old daughter was involved in a car accident in Madison County. Fortunately, the sheriff of Madison County (off duty at the time) was nearby and came to the accident. He was kind and patient and understanding. Our daughter was visibly upset and he continued to calm her. He stayed with her and the other driver as the on-duty deputies came to the accident.

We will be forever grateful for the professional and kind manner in which our daughter was treated. Thank you, Sheriff Lowe.
