Two men and a female teenager were arrested recently after an officer looking for the men on a tip from Hart County found the trio in a vehicle on Chandler Road.
Joshua James York, 29, of 651 Otis Skelton Road, Royston, was charged with one count of theft by taking.
Michael Wayne Ellison, 38, of 385 Robert Reed Road, Royston, was also charged with one count of theft by taking.
Ellison’s girlfriend, Brandi Joyce Roberts, 18, also of 385 Robert Reid Road, Royston, was charged with hindering apprehension of a criminal.
According to the incident report, Investigator Jimmy Patton received a tip from Hart County investigators that Ellison and York might be at a residence on Chandler Road.
Investigators were searching for them to serve active warrants from Madison, Hart and Franklin counties. Ellison also reportedly had a warrant for aggravated battery from Forsyth County. Patton said he also received information that Robert, Ellison’s girlfriend, might be with him driving a green Ford Explorer. He noted that Roberts had been warned that she would be charged if she was found to be harboring Ellison.
As Patton approached Chandler Road from Hwy. 98, he spotted the green Ford Explorer with Ellison and York standing beside it, and Roberts behind the steering wheel. All were taken into custody without incident. A stolen pistol was also found during a search of the vehicle. Additional charges are pending, according to the report.
Others arrested by law enforcement in Madison County last week included:
•Candy Lee Gearing, 28, 49 Bugg Road, Hull, possession, manufacture, distribution, etc. — violation of Georgia’s Controlled Substance Act (VGCSA) possession of hydrocodone, drugs to be kept in original container and order to incarcerate.
•Mickey Glenn Rooker, 49, 817 Hwy. 174, Danielsville, probation violation (original charge: possession of a firearm by a convicted felon).

•Carroll Anthony Funkhouser, 43, 721 Beaver Run Road, Bowman, failure to appear.
•Melissa Anne Immings, 43, 476 Franklin Springs Street, Royston, DUI and driving while license withdrawn.
Inv. Patton has done always done a great job for Madison County. Its good to know that somebody at MCSO cares about the citizens here. By the way, has anyone seen the new K9 vehicle they supposedly bought with Obama grant money? I thought they would have to advertise the purchase as a condition of the grant, like all the other grants require.
If you would look at the paper on a regular basis you would know that it was advertised and also went before the boc for approval. You must have a bitter taste in your mouth, sounds like someone lost a job under our new sheriff and just can't get over it.Point being if you are a former employee you wouldn't know anything about grants anyway because you never wrote any!!!! Oh yeah.... you are right Lt.Patton does a great job at the sheriff's office.(which would be one of the many reasons he was kept)
