I have attended numerous BOC meetings over the past couple of years, specifically the meetings that dealt with the turning lane for Glenn Carrie Road and Hwy. 29 and the red light at Merchants and Farmers Bank and Ingles on Hwy. 29.
Chairman Nash indicated in his campaign ads that he is the reason that the progress for these road issues is at the status they are now. The status of these road projects are at state level now being highly reviewed. The real truth for the matter is chairman Nash has not worked at all with the commissioners to move this project forward. Commissioner Mike Youngblood of District 3, commissioner Stanley Thomas of District 1, and Marvin White of the IDA traveled to the state capitol with numerous documents on these two road issues.
They have met with the DOT concerning these upgrades. Chairman Nash has done neither of these. He is not at all responsible for the progress of these road issues as he stated in The Madison County Journal. Also, chairman Nash has commented on the BOC taking his power away from him. If chairman Nash had been doing his job and taking care of county business on a daily basis and driving his county truck for county business only, maybe the BOC would have left him as he was.
Sincerely,
Ross Kesterson
