A Colbert man was arrested on family violence and other charges recently after he allegedly attacked and bit his father on the ear.
Jeremy Barton Lee, 33, 1686 Sorrow Patterson Road, was charged with aggravated battery FVA, third degree cruelty to children, obstruction of an officer and a parole violation.
According to the incident report, Deputy Gary Floyd arrived at the residence on Sorrow Patterson Road and saw a young girl run by his patrol car screaming. As Floyd approached a commotion on the front porch, he saw Lee, who appeared to be intoxicated, being restrained by his father, who was bleeding from a head wound. As Deputy Floyd attempted to handcuff Lee, he began to resist and attempted to bite his father, who was still tangled up with him. Deputy Floyd was eventually able to subdue Lee, who reportedly spat at him and his father several times.
Lee’s father stated that his son had come home “yelling and screaming at everyone.” When he got on the porch, he allegedly punched his father in the face and bit him severely on the ear when he tried to restrain him. While transporting Lee to jail, he allegedly continued to fly into a rage and stated he would “kill a mother&@!%*^# law man.”
Once at the jail, he calmed down and was booked without incident.
In another arrest, a Comer man allegedly admitted to striking his wife with his closed fist and a belt.
Manuel Arroyo, 32, 1010 Lowe Road, was charged with one count of battery FVA.
According to the incident report, Deputy Josh Smith found the woman walking on Lowe Road towards Hwy. 98. She explained that her husband had assaulted her by pulling her hair, striking her in the head with a closed fist and hitting her with a belt. She showed Smith marks that were allegedly left by the belt. Deputy David Kidd went to the residence where he made contact with Arroyo, who told him that the two of them were arguing over his wife’s alleged infidelity when the argument turned physical.
