A Hull man was charged with breaking into cars at Madison County Towing and other places of business recently.
Brian Lee Shields, 27, of 49 Bugg Road, was charged with six counts of theft by taking, four counts of theft by receiving stolen property, two counts of driving while license withdrawn, and one count each of burglary, no insurance and unlawful dumping or burning.
Six vehicles were reportedly broken into recently at Madison County Towing’s impound lot on Hwy. 29 South.
According to the incident report, it appeared that gasoline was taken from most of the vehicles and that all were broken into with various items taken.
In a related incident, the owner of Complete Auto Care next to Madison County Towing reported that two vehicles there were entered and that gas was also taken from the gas tanks.
In another incident, cruelty to children in the first degree was reported on Diamond Hill Neese Road last week. A woman reportedly bit her 19-month old daughter on the back several days prior to the report. Deputy Chris Guest contacted DFCS to meet him at the scene for further investigation.
