The Hull City Council’s first order of business in 2010 was to swear in its new councilmember, Paige Phillips.
Phillips took her oath of office Jan. 17 after winning the city council seat back during the November municipal elections. Her term runs until 2013.
The council also swore in Mayor Paul Elkins, who ran unopposed in November to win another term in office.
Hull designated its officers for 2010 as well.
Sandra Pou remains the city clerk and election superintendent while Wayne Melton is mayor pro tem. Hull also retained Pat Graham as its attorney, Hawkins and McNair as its auditors and Tracy Dean as its registrar.
Hull also agreed to order business cards for each council member for public relations purposes.
“It gives you a little bit more of a professional approach when you have people coming out to visit you,” Elkins said.
The cards will include the councilperson’s name and primary telephone number as well as Hull’s logo and slogan, “The well city.”
