BARNES to MORTGAGE ELECTRONIC REGISTRATION SYSTEMS, INC., recorded in Deed Book 685, Page 143, Madison County, Georgia Deed Records, and securing a Note in the original principal amount of $72,000.00, Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems, Inc., the current holder thereof, has declared the entire amount of said indebtedness evidenced by the Note immediately due and payable and, pursuant to the power of sale contained in said Security Deed, will, on the first Tuesday in August, 2008, to-wit: August 5, 2008, during the legal hours of sale, before the Madison County Courthouse door, sell at public outcry to the highest bidder for cash, the following described real property:
All that tract or parcel of land containing 1.578 acres, more or less, together with all improvements thereon, situate, lying and being in the 262nd District G.M. of Madison County, Georgia, in the City of Ila, located on the Northerly side of Georgia Highway 98, and being more particularly shown and designated as tract 3 on a plat prepared by Ben McLeroy & Associates, Inc., Ben McLeroy, Registered Surveyor, dated November 17, 2000, recorded in Plat Book B-58, Page 2, Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Madison County, Georgia, which plat and record are by reference incorporated herein.
The aforedescribed real property is also known as 35 Wilkes Street, Ila, Georgia, according to the present system of numbering houses in Madison County, Georgia.
This sale will be conducted subject (1) to confirmation that the sale is not prohibited under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and (2) to final confirmation and audit as to the amount and status of the loan with the holder of the Security Deed, including but not limited to, a determination that the borrower has not reinstated the loan prior to the foreclosure sale.

Please be advised that on May 19, 2008, the Madison County Board of Commissioners amended the current Occupation Tax Ordinance. Previously only businesses with W-2 employees were required to purchase an Occupation Tax Certificate (OTC). The new amendment requires all business owners with and without W-2 employees engaged in any business, trade, profession, or occupation in the unincorporated portion of Madison County, Georgia, to purchase an (OTC) by September 1st, 2008. Late fees and penalties will apply after September 1st, 2008.
