Man charged with threatening wife, family
A Hull man was arrested recently after his wife called 911 to report that he had threatened her.
Ronnie Keith Jenkins, 42, 220 Gillispie Drive, was charged with one count of terroristic threats and acts.
According to the incident report, Deputy Douglas Martin met with Jenkins’ wife in Ingles parking lot, where she told him that she had received several threats in person and on the phone from her husband, from whom she is separated.
According to the woman, Jenkins threatened “to shoot her and her family members.” A witness heard the comments and the call was also recorded. The deputy listened to the recorded call, noting that a man with a hostile and aggressive tone threatened to “blow her brains out.” Jenkins also reportedly made the threat in person in front of several witnesses in the Ingles parking lot. The woman told deputy Martin that Jenkins had also threatened to “take out” any officers that confronted him.
Deputy Martin and another officer went to the residence, where they found Jenkins, who tried to resist arrest. He was subdued and taken to the Madison County Jail.
In another arrest, a Colbert woman was taken into custody last week after deputies responded to a “disorderly female” call at a home on Buddy Moore Road.
Sheila Denise Jackson, 38, 496 Buddy Moore Road, was charged with one count each of disorderly conduct and criminal trespass.
According to the incident report, deputies Dennis Harbison and Matthew Pilkington responded to the scene where a man told them that his estranged girlfriend (Jackson), who had been gone for several months, called him the day before to come pick up her belongings because her car had broken down. He stated that when he couldn’t get her car fixed, she “threw a tantrum” and demanded the use of his vehicle. When the man told her “no,” she reportedly got inside his vehicle and started kicking the dashboard with both her feet, causing minor damage.
At that point, the man said, he went inside and called 911. When Deputy Harbison tried to speak with Jackson about her side of the incident, he noted that she was “extremely hostile and verbally combative,” saying that she and the man were “common law married” and that the deputies had no right to be there. “She was not short on the use of profanity while informing us of what she thought about our presence,” Harbison wrote in the incident report.
After refusing Harbison’s directions to calm down, she was arrested and taken to the Madison County Jail.
In another arrest, Frances Marie Wilson, 62, of 13 Booth Drive, Comer, was charged with DUI (drugs) after she was involved in an accident in the Ingles parking lot. Paramedics were called to the scene to check on her and they noted that her pupils were dialated. The deputy also noted that she was unsteady on her feet and that her speech was slurred. Wilson reportedly told the deputy that she had taken three Lortabs, but refused a blood test.
