Two brothers were arrested recently after they allegedly attacked a man at his home on Diamond Hill Colbert Road.
Roger Dale Pressley, 29, 55 Pace Drive, Nicholson, and his brother, Scottie Dale Pressley, 27, of 129 Pace Drive, Nicholson, were each charged with battery and criminal trespass.
According to the incident report, the men came to the home, knocked on the door, and when the victim opened it, Roger Pressley hit him with his fist and pushed him into the residence. His brother Scottie Pressley also allegedly came into the residence and hit and kicked the victim. The men allegedly pushed the victim into a window, breaking the glass.
R. Pressley’s wife was reportedly at the victim’s residence at the time of the attack. The couple is in the process of a divorce, according to the report.
The brothers were arrested on Martin Griffeth Road following a traffic stop.
In another incident, Deputy David Kidd responded to a call for assistance at Neese Grocery, where he met with a woman who said her ex-boyfriend, William Melton, would not get out of her car. He had torn the rearview mirror off and told her he “wanted to fight with police so he could go to jail.” The woman also said Melton had pushed her.
When deputies got him out of the car, he reportedly told them he had been walking for two days and he had wanted his ex-girlfriend to take him to Athens. He also said he wanted to go to jail and that is why he pushed her.
William George Melton, 45, no address given, was arrested on one count each of criminal trespass and simple battery.
