Woman charged with pedestrian under the influence
An Athens woman was arrested recently after residents of Rose Hill Drive reported her walking from house to house and wandering the road in a “boisterous state.”
Latoya Tawanna Willingham, 31, 209 Poloma Trail, was charged with one count of pedestrian under the influence of alcohol or drugs, after a deputy found her walking along the road in an “apparently intoxicated state.”
In another incident, two sisters were arrested at their home last week after Deputy Gary Floyd was summoned to a family violence call. Heather Michelle Dalton, 21, and Latasha Lynn Dalton, 23, both of 1665 Jones Chapel Shiloh Road, Danielsville, were charged with one count each of battery FVA.
According to the incident report, the witness, the boyfriend of Latasha, stated that Latasha was trying to cook dinner when Heather cut the power off to the trailer. An argument then reportedly ensued in Heather’s bedroom, which turned physical, leaving visible signs of injury on both women. Deputy Floyd noted that officers had been called to the residence multiple times over the previous two days and that the two had been told to separate.
Other incidents on file at the sheriff’s office this week included:
•A man reported that his niece used his debit card without his permission at a business on General Daniel Avenue in Danielsville.
•A church under construction on Helican Springs Road was broken into recently.
•Someone on Clements Road reported that a 6x10 utility trailer had been stolen.
•Two batteries were reportedly taken out of two school buses at Ila Elementary School.
•A four-wheeler was reportedly stolen from someone on Winns Lake Road.
•Methamphetamines and marijuana were seized from a home on Transco Road during a search by the sheriff’s office and Piedmont MANS Unit. A large quantity of cash, firearms, tools and vehicles were also found.
•A utility trailer was broken into on Hwy. 172 and a generator and other items were reportedly taken.
•A man on Farm Road whose home had burned several days before reported that someone had taken all the copper wire, two window air conditioners, a gas stove and an electric water heater from the burned home.
•A stereo was reportedly stolen from an unlocked car on Briarwood Lane.
•Theft by taking was reported by an employee of Hardees in Danielsville. She told a deputy that two people in a red Honda Civic came through the drive line and that the male in the car walked over and picked up her cigarette case from where she had left it during a break.
•DUI was reported at First Citizens Bank in Danielsville.
•A woman on Old Church Road reported that a man she knows had punched her repeatedly about the head. The deputy noted that she had scratches to her nose and forehead and that it appeared as though she had fallen. She was intoxicated and was transported to ARMC for treatment.
•Neighbors on Musket Ridge in Hull called 911 to complain of a neighbor firing a gun in the neighborhood near their home. All the complainants said this is an ongoing issue with the offender. They were advised of the warrant process.
•A resident of Spratlin Mill Road reported that someone broke into his car overnight and took his CD player and speakers.
•A chicken house used for storage was reportedly broken into on Paoli Road.
•Harrassing phone calls were reported on East Jones Chapel Road.
•Deputies were summoned to a domestic fight between a couple on Charlie Bolton Road.
•Driving without a license was reported on Hwy. 72 at Fourth Street in Colbert.
•Two heating units were reportedly stolen from a couple of residences on Vineyards Creek Church Road.
•A mobile home was reportedly broken into on Diamond Hill Colbert Road. No items were reported stolen.
•A tractor trailer truck reportedly struck two gas pumps at the Hwy. 98 Qwik Mart.
•Disorderly conduct was reported on Hwy. 29 South at Ingles when a woman reported that her boyfriend had been harassing her. During the altercation, Magistrate Judge Harry Rice reportedly approached the couple and instructed the woman’s boyfriend to leave her alone.
•Criminal trespass was reported on McGinnis Chandler Road.
•A man on Planter Gunnell Road reported that his ex-girlfriend refuses to return a cell phone that he loaned her and has instead threatened to damage or destroy it.
•A vacant home on Veterans Drive in Danielsville was vandalized.
•A landlord allegedly slapped a tenant at a rental home on Vineyards Creek Church Road after the two got into an argument during a walk through inspection. The tenant told the deputy that her landlord had slapped her and threatened to kill her and her dog after the dog nipped her. The landlady told the deputy that the tenant had cursed her and tried to push her off the porch, which was why she had slapped her.
•A chainsaw was reportedly stolen from a fire truck at Collins Volunteer Fire Department on Hwy. 172.
•A woman on McCarty Dodd Road reported that another woman had come to her residence and stolen prescription pills from her bathroom.
•Burglary was reported on Hwy. 106 South when a woman and her son found rear sliding doors broken and some items stolen.
•Residents of Stone Creek Drive reported that someone had placed their trampoline in their swimming pool. They also reported that someone had “rolled their yard” recently and that they are concerned that these pranks will escalate into criminal damage.
•A woman on Sawdust Road reported that her live-in boyfriend grabbed her by the throat and began choking her during an argument and then kicked her, causing her to fall. The man reportedly left and ran into the woods when deputies approached.
•Simple battery was reported on Jones Mathis Road when a father and daughter got into a fight.
