Athens man arrested for family violence at Ingles

David Michael Sewell, 51, 305 Noketchee Creek Road, was charged with one count of battery FVA.

According to the incident report, the couple had been separated two weeks prior to the incident, when Sewell came to the victim’s place of work and began to argue with her after she refused his cell phone calls. When he became confrontational about a TV, she reportedly asked him to walk outside of the store with her so as not make a scene in front of customers. While walking outside, Sewell allegedly struck her in the face.

In another arrest, a Comer man was taken into custody after a fight with a woman at their residence.

Sylvester Riden Jr., 48, 143 Kudzu Road, was charged with one count of battery after he allegedly struck the victim and choked her.

•Cesar Gabriel Cortez, 33, Hallmark Trailer Park, 705 Spring Valley Road, Athens, hit and run – failure to stop and render aid, DUI/alcohol, driving without a license and driving on the wrong side of the road. (GSP)

•Rufus Lee Kelley, 50, 351 Farm Road, Colbert, burglary and order to incarcerate – child support.

•Jonathan Andrew Norris, 25, 3026 Kellogg Creek Road, Acworth, financial transaction card fraud.

•Hoyt Wesley Patterson, 48, 102 I Street, Anderson, S.C., public drunkenness.
