Man faces drug charges

Dwight Marshall, 58, 317 Springtree Road, Apt. B, was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, failure to obey a stop sign and illegal possession of a controlled substance.

According to the incident report, Deputy Jeffrey Strickland and two other officers were assisting the Piedmont MANS Unit with a drug case, when Strickland was informed that a black male (Marshall) driving a silver Dodge Stratus from Clarke County was delivering cocaine to an undercover officer in Hull. The suspect attempted to turn off Old Elberton Road and was intercepted by officers with blue lights and sirens. The vehicle entered Hwy. 72 and eventually pulled into a Hwy. 72 driveway in Clarke County where Marshall reportedly began to eat the cocaine while resisting arrest. He was eventually subdued with OC spray and MANS officers were able to recover a quantity of cocaine from Marshall and the vehicle.

In another arrest, an Athens man was arrested on drug charges last week after the sheriff’s office assisted the Piedmont MANS Unit in a narcotics investigation at the Apex on Hwy. 29 at Old Danielsville Road.

Terrio Tavarus Pass, 29, 236 Fourth Street, was charged with tampering with evidence, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and obstructing or hindering law enforcement officers.

•Keith Alan Brostrom, 42, 572 Willis Glenn road, Hull, DUI/alcohol.

•Arthur Brown Jr., 40, 436 Brickyard Road, Comer, DUI/alcohol and failure to obey stop sign.

•Rita Audrey Caldwell, 41, 1141 Rose Drive, Watkinsville, deposit account fraud/bad checks.

•Joselin Chacon, 17, 478 Woodale Street, Hull, driving without a license and following too closely.

•Willie Clarence Dean, 49, 3233 Colbert Danielsville Road, Danielsville, two counts of probation violation (felony).

•Miguel Estrada, 19, 115 Madison Boulevard, Colbert, removing or affixing license plate with intent to conceal or misrepresent, excessive volume from radio, no tag, defective tires, driving without a license and DUI while driving a commercial motor vehicle.

•Cheyanne Barry Graham, 34, 610 River Road, Carlton, DUI/alcohol and hit and run/failure to stop and render aid.

•Cedric Tomaine Hazzard, 28, 1604 Sweet City Road, Elberton, possession of marijuana.

•Heriberto Mercado, 20 9574 Hwy. 72 West Tranquility Forest, Lot 3, Hull, obstructing or hindering law enforcement officers and giving false name, address or birthdate to a law enforcement officer.

•Juan Carlos Mercado, 18, 9574 Hwy. 72 West, Lot 3, Hull, driving while license withdrawn and illegal/stop/stand/park where prohibited.

•Benny Lee Minish, 32, 22 Edward Lane, Danielsville, probation violation (felony), DUI/alcohol, driving while license withdraw, weaving over roadway and two counts of endangering a child by DUI.

•Maria Karina Reyes, 25, 205 Winchester Drive, Apt. 25, Athens, diving without a license.

•James Anthony Rossi Sr., 53, 117 Bugg Road, Hull, DUI/alcohol, tag light required, driving while license suspended or revoked (felony) (fourth or subsequent offense) and possession of open alcohol container.

•Stephanie Lynn Sims, 32, 467 Kellogg Drive, Colbert, DUI/alcohol/controlled substance present in blood/urine, speeding, no tag and possession of marijuana less than an ounce. (GSP/Athens)

•Santino Marquez Swain, 19, 361 Sanders Road, Hull, loitering and obstructing or hindering law enforcement officers.

•Bobbie Lee Tittle, 59, 360 Norwood Circle, Athens, DUI and failure to obey stop sign.

•Ricky Alan Whitehill, 48, 966 Hwy. 98 East, Danielsville, probation violation.
