A Colbert man was arrested recently after allegedly trying to forge a prescription for narcotics at Fred’s in Colbert.
Wesley Truitt Adams, 33, 2285 Diamond Hill Colbert Road, was arrested and charged with forgery in the first degree and obtainingor attempting to obtain dangerous drugs by fraud, forgery or concealment.
According to the incident report, the pharmacist at Fred’s became suspicious of a customer (Adams) after a number of prescriptions were dropped off for oxycodone and Lortab. The pharmacist’s suspicions were confirmed when he called the doctor’s office and was told that there was no patient by that name.
An officer went to Adams’ home and arrested him. Adams reportedly told the officer that he had been getting the prescriptions from someone near Arnoldsville who was printing off the blank forms and writing them for what he wanted. He said he would then pick up the prescriptions and take them to different pharmacies. After he picked up the medication, he said he would then take it back to the man, who would keep half and give him half.
