You want to know why we are not getting businesses? One, we are just now getting a sewer system in Hull, but the main reason is the Board of Commissioners.
The BOC rely on votes to get re-elected. So, they must adhere to their fellow constituents wants. We have obtained a certain "reputation" if you will, within this county. People do not want to build in our county due to the political oppostion that they face.
For instance, the organic egg farm owner faced considerable public humiliation from John Pethel and Stanley Thomas at the BOC meeting. Many people are not going to take the wrath of uneducated idots that have overinflated egos.
If you want to see more development in this county, go to the polls, vote the incumbent out, AND START OVER!!!!! Please.
Not exactly true. The owner of Sunrise Golf Course asked for rezoning to build a retirement community and the BOC gave him EVERYTHING he wanted. He GAVE HIS WORD he would have it done in "2 years." Well, it's been about 2 years, and I can't see that the owner has done ANYTHING. He should be in jail.
Why hasn't the owner of Sunrise built the retirement community he said he was going to build? Pretty sure the rezone is supposed to revert back after 6 mos. or 1 yr. if you don't get your permits and get started. I guess the zoning has reverted back. Can't believe anything Sunrise man says.
The reason we can get no businesses here is because we have a bunch of commissioners with NO business sense! Backward attitudes, good ole boy mentality has got to go. What kind of business and education level do our commissioners have?
