Two charged with narcotics possession

Christopher Shannon Hanley, 31, 3274 Jot-Em-Down Road, Ila, and Christopher Brannon Childs, 25, 1816 Hunt Cliff Way, Elberton, were each charged with possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance.

According to the incident report, deputy Joshua Smith pulled over a gray Chrysler Sebring after noticing the vehicle had only one working headlight. After speaking with the driver, he noticed that two passengers in the back were moving around a lot and acting very nervous. He asked for their identification and was given permission by the driver to search the vehicle. During the search, deputy Smith found a Marlboro Light cigarette box with a cellophane wrapper containing 34 oxycodone pills (a narcotic) in the center of the back seat where the two men were seated.
Both passengers denied that the pills were theirs and both were arrested.

•Henry Russell Mize, 44,1059 East Paoli Road, Carlton, was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, failure to obey a stop sign, littering from a motor vehicle, reckless driving and passing in a no-passing zone after he led officers on a high-speed chase.

•Brett Mathew Aronson, 22, 398 South Milledge Avenue, Athens, DUI.

•Randall Wayne Bales, 28, 2080 Griffin Road, Hull, DUI, weaving over roadway and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

•Erica Jean Coker, 20, 1087 Country Road 224, Watervally, Miss., forgery in the first degree.

•Kenneth David Davis, 39, 113 Mil Run Drive, Comer, failure to appear.

•Christopher Brian Ferguson, 30, 384 McGinnis Chandler Road, Commerce, battery/simple battery FVA, and third degree cruelty to children.

•Jennings Carter Howard, 32, 135 Orchard Knob Lane, Athens, theft by receiving stolen property, DUI, tag light required, failure to dim headlights and receipt, possession or transfer of firearm by a convicted felon or felony first offender.

•Hector Rodrigues Garcia, 43, 1995 Winterville Road, Lot 20, Athens, driving without a license, speeding and two counts of safety belt violation for 18 and older.

•James Bernard Hardman, 35, 1520 Hunter Road, Elberton, deposit account fraud (bad checks).

•Justin Lee Hill, 22, 2105 Beaverdam Road, Winterville, removing or affixing license plate with intent to conceal or misrepresent, defective tires and illegal possession of a Controlled Substance. (GSP)

•Joshua Ryan Huff, 21, 2080 Griffin Road, Hull, furnishing, purchasing and possession of alcoholic beverages by persons below legal age.

•Sherry Hochstedler Lester, 38, 75 Hargrove Lake Road, Crawford, deposit account fraud/bad checks.

•Douglas McDonald Makemson, 57, 455 Fred Loggins Road, Commerce, DUI, illegal possession of a controlled substance, window, windshield or wiper violation and possession of open container.

•Mark Larry Maney, 24, 431 Faye Carey Road, Danielsville, probation violation.

•Lesley Dale Miller, 41, 510 Woodale Street, Hull, hold for Oglethorpe County.

•Rajeesh Rajappan, 31, 499 Cherokee Ridge, Athens, stalking.
