Lexington woman charged with battery

Mattie Hill, 47, 25 Hill Drive, was charged with disorderly conduct and simple battery.

According to the incident report, the officer arrived to find Hill and the victim standing outside the front door. Hill was reportedly irate and yelling at the victim. When the officer asked her what was going on, she reportedly told him that the victim was her boyfriend and that she had come over to his house and found another woman there and that was why she was upset.

The victim said he and Hill had lived together in the past but were just friends now. He said that when she saw the other woman there, she grabbed him by his shirt and ripped it off. Hill had also reportedly grabbed several bottles of beer out of the refrigerator and threw them throughout the house. She was taken to the Madison County Jail and the victim was taken to Oglethorpe County on an outstanding warrant there.

•Benny Raymond Cowart, 56, 154 Freeman Fowler Road, Danielsville, was charged with battery FVA after he reportedly struck his adult son in the chest causing injury.

•Curtis Leon Huff, 30, 1300 Mineral Springs Road, Elberton, failure to have license on person and DUI.
