An officer was summoned to a fight on Amberly Drive recently between three women.
When the officer arrived a large crowd had gathered. Two of the women were arguing when a third came out of her house and jumped on one of the others.
The officer noted that there were small fight marks on all the participants and all three declined EMS attention.
The women then stated they were friends and did not want to press charges.
Other incidents on file at the sheriff’s office recently included:
•Theft by taking and simple battery were reported on Moriah Church Road after a woman called to report a domestic dispute. She said the man had choked her and pushed her against the refrigerator and then took her prescription Lortab and left. The man said by phone that he did not choke or push her or take her prescription medication.
•A woman on Hwy. 29 South reported that her 24 year-old son had not been heard from since Aug. 17. The woman said that her son is mentally challenged and has a tendency to smoke marijuana, further clouding his judgment. He works with her brother and did not show up for work.
He was entered on the GCIC as a missing person.
•A 22 caliber Ruger rifle was found missing from a vehicle on Neese-Commerce Road.
•Child molestation was reported on Evangelical Church Road. No further details were available.
•Battery was reported on Wesley Chapel Road after a woman reported that she and her daughter-in-law got into a physical altercation at the woman’s father’s home.
•Theft of gas service was reported at two residences on Hwy. 29 South.
•An unknown amount of wiring and a green wheelbarrow were taken from chicken houses on Buffington Road. The victim stated he had had an argument with someone who had stated he was going to “tear up and burn the chicken houses.”
•Harassing phone calls were reported on Del Cedar Lane after a woman came to the sheriff’s office to report that another woman had called her and left a voicemail saying that she was going to “smash her head in and kill her dogs if she doesn’t quit calling her.” The victim said that she had called the other woman and that she had filed two previous reports in reference to harassment.
•Aggravated child molestation, aggravated sodomy and cruelty to children were reported on Scogin Road. No other details were available
•A woman on Allen Road reported harassing phone calls from a woman about custody issues between her and the victim’s stepson.
•Two suicide attempts were reported in the county.
•Battery was reported at a cemetery on Sewell Mill Road when she reported that her ex-boyfriend approached her at the cemetery where she had walked after an argument with her current boyfriend and smacked her in the face with an open hand. She said he also dragged her across the pavement, face down, for about 20 feet. Then three unknown females who were with him allegedly jumped on her and “kicked her #$%.” She said she had had a TPO on the ex-boyfriend for the past 12 months but did not know where he lives.
•A Roland guitar amp was reportedly stolen from the Union Baptist Church family life center on Hwy. 106 South.
•Copper wiring was reported stolen from the air conditioning units at a home on Collins Bridges Road.
•Insulated wiring was taken from the ceiling area of a garage, as well as the battery out of a listed vehicle at a home on Lord Street.
•Copper piping and electrical wiring were reported missing from a home for sale on Old Ila Road.
•Forgery in the first degree was reported on Paoli Road after a woman reported that fraudulent charges had been made against her checking account at two different Walmarts.
•Jewelry was reported missing from a home was broken into on Old Ila Road.
•A TV was reported missing from a home that was burglarized on McCarty Dodd Road. A cabinet and the bedrooms had also been ransacked and other unlisted items taken. Fingerprints were taken from a glass jar that had contained loose change.
•A man on Macedonia Church Road reported that a woman had taken two credit cards from his home and added her name to the account.
•A man on Sartain Drive reportedly fell off his four –wheeler and struck his head, rendering him unconscious for a few minutes. The man refused transport by EMS. He also said he had been drinking and wasn’t holding onto the vehicle very well.
•A woman reported that the HVAC unit had been stolen from her deceased mother’s home on Hwy. 106 South. She also said an unknown person had changed the locks on the residence and that a realtor’s key lock box was attached to the front door, though the home is not for sale.
•A new heating and cooling unit was stolen from a home that is being remodeled on Reggie Ingram Road.
•A man on Pebblebrook Lane was reportedly trapped under a truck he was working on. His mother called for EMS and the man was removed from underneath the truck. The officer reported that the man was alert and conscious but was transported to the hospital.
•A woman on Woodale Steet reported credit cards missing from her purse after she invited two black males she met in an Athens bar home for drinks.
•A couple on Berkeley Road reported that their son had punched holes in a bedroom wall in a fit of rage and threatened to burn the house down before leaving on a four-wheeler. The couple stated their son had been living with them since his release from prison.
•A cell phone was reportedly stolen from the customer service counter at Ingles in Hull. According to the report, the phone was left at the store on Saturday and the owner was called and advised to pick up the phone, but when the owner arrived the phone was gone. Surveillance video showed that two white males had come to the counter and that one of them had reached across the counter and taken the phone. Two employees recognized one of the suspects.
•Simple battery and criminal trespass were reported on Swamp Guinea Road after a man and a woman got into an argument. The woman said the man struck her in the back of the head and knocked her to the ground and the man said the woman pulled the side window off his truck while yelling and cussing. The woman was escorted away from the property and both were advised of the warrant process.
•A man on Blacks Creek Church Road reported that he shot two white dogs that had been coming into his yard at night and chasing and killing his chickens and rabbits. One dog, without a collar, was dead at the scene and the other had run off and could not be found.
•A gun and other items were reportedly stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in front of a home on Kyla’s Way.
•A woman on Eugene Hardman Road reported that someone had been coming onto her property and “messing with her personal belongings.”
•A four-wheeler was stolen from a padlocked building on Cherokee Road.
•Harassing text messages were reported on Brownwood Drive after a woman called to report that her son had received threatening text messages from another boy who was angry about her son talking to his girlfriend. The officer called the offender and told him not to have any further contact with the boy. The officer advised the victim that the school resource officer would be informed of the situation.
