The 10th annual Danielsville Fall Festival will be held Saturday, Oct. 16, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Danielsville Memorial Park in downtown Danielsville near the county government complex.
The Madison County Boy Scout Troop #377 will conduct the opening ceremonies at 9 a.m.
There will be live entertainment all day, with the Holman-Autry Band, the Crossroad Singers, Karlie Dobbs and Tom Harmon. The Madison County Cruisers will also host a cruise-in from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For cruise-in information, call 706-795-2645.
There will also be a moon walk, barbecue, boiled and roasted peanuts, train rides, stew, jewelry, funnel cakes, a duck pond, raffle drawings, pony rides, crafts and lemonade.
City clerk Connie Riley said 50 vendors had signed up as of Monday, but she said she expected approximately 80 to sign up by Saturday.
Riley said the city will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the festival with a large cake that will be served for free around noon for as long as the cake lasts.
I actually thought we had a pretty good crowd, at some points through the day you couldn't find anywhere to park as cars were lining the streets and the parking lot was full. At least that's what it looked like from our booth at the Danielsville Fall Festival..or did I misunderstand?
Apparently you need to study up on the history of the Watkinsville Festival....They changed the regular date of their festuival to the same date as the Danielsville Fall Festival which has ALWAYS been the 3rd Sat. in Oct....not so with Watkinsville.
Apparently you need to study up on common sense. Whatever day the Oconee Fall Festival is scheduled, they need to have the D'ville festival on a different day, 'cause the Oconee Fall Festival attracts, oh, a gazillion more people from all over, so very few attend the D'ville festival. We went to both, and there were hardly any people at the D'ville festival as compared to the thousands at the Oconee Fall Festival.
You need to get on the committee and see if you can change it yourself. That is the problem around here, everyone does not know as much as you. So why don't you share your great knowledge with everyone in a good way. Do not act like a know it all and then put people down because they do not keep up with things out side of our county. When they put it together they are doing the best they can. J@ck @@s!!!!!!
