A Hull man was sentenced recently in Madison County Superior Court to eight years confinement for aggravated battery.
John William Baxter, 36, Morningside Mobile Home Park Lot 12, Hull, was also sentenced to 12 years probation for aggravated battery and one year probation for simple battery. A charge of obstruction of officers was dismissed.
Other actions filed recently in the office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Madison County include:
•Buffie L. Riden, 38, 3233 Colbert Danielsville Road, Danielsville, was sentenced to five years probation and fined $850 for theft by deception.
•Chamaro D. Cunningham, 30, 1309 Lexington Carlton Road, Carlton, was sentenced to five years probation and fined $850 for theft by taking.
•Ronald Mark Elrod, 44, 40 Seagraves Mill Road, Hull, was sentenced to five years probation and fined $850 for receipt, possession or transfer of a firearm by a convicted felon.
•Joe Lewis Harper, 46, 1790 East Broad Street, Athens, was sentenced to five years probation and fined $880 for habitual violator. Charges of failure to stop for a stop sign and DUI were dismissed.
•Randall Eugene Parham, 43, 65 Vaughn Circle, Royston, was sentenced to 60 days confinement on each of the following charges: no headlights, driving while license suspended or revoked, weaving over roadway, obstruction of officers and fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer.
•Ashley Renee Wright, no age available, 42 Fernwood Drive, Hull, was sentenced to four years probation and fined $790 for forgery in the first degree. A charge of theft by taking was dismissed.
•Johnny Ray Strickland, 58, 891 James Springs Road, Danielsville, was sentenced to two years confinement, eight years probation and fined $320 for failure to register as a sex offender.
•Jared Anthony Chamblee, 25, 692 Branch Street, Athens, was sentenced to seven years probation and fined $2,025 for possession of cocaine (reduced from possession of cocaine with intent to distribute).
•Randy Lee Webb Watson, 28, 109 Watson Road, Danielsville, was sentenced to five years probation and fined $1,475 for theft by taking.
•Brittany Lea Patrick, 20, 2613 Hardman Morris Road, Colbert, was sentenced to five years probation and fined $850 for forgery in the first degree.
•Otis Darus Porter, 26, 288 Barley Street E3, Athens, was sentenced to seven years probation for possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and three counts of forgery in the first degree. He was also fined $1,650. Three counts of distributing controlled substance without order form or with fictitious registration, one count of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and one count of forgery in the first degree were dismissed.
