Man gets probation for cruelty to animals

Other actions filed recently in the office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Madison County include:

•William Scott Rice, 36, 1871 Comer Road, Comer, was sentenced to one year probation for speeding and obstruction of officers and fined $827. Charges of failure to stop for a stop sign, reckless driving, driving while license suspended or revoked and fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer were dismissed.

•Carrissa Octavia Patman, 24, 190 Tommy James Road, Hull, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $270 for obstruction of officers.

•James Quinton Faucett, 26, 1366 Kingston Hollow, Colbert, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $850 for simple assault (reduced from aggravated assault).

•Joseph Robert Faucett, 29, 1366 Kingston Hollow, Colbert, was sentenced to one year probation and 80 hours of community service for simple assault (reduced from aggravated assault). He was also sentenced to one year probation for DUI. Faucett was fined a total of $1,261.

•David Michael Brightwell, 38, 117 Firewood Street, Athens, was sentenced to one year probation for disorderly conduct (reduced from aggravated assault), speeding, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, obstruction officers, no proof of insurance, acquiring license plate for the purpose of concealing motor vehicle ID, operating vehicle without a valid tag, driving while license suspended or revoked and giving false information to law enforcement officers. He was also fined $875.

•Daniven B. Parks, 21, 575 Rivermont Road, 179 Lane Properties Sheresa Parks, Athens, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $472 for theft by receiving stolen property.

•Brandon Christopher Hale, 23, P.O. Box 753, Danielsville, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $472 for theft by taking. Three counts of failure to appear were dismissed.

•Jon Alan Smith, 38, Rt. 2 Ogle Drive, Winterville, was sentenced to six months probation and fined $522 for possession of drug-related objects or equipment. A charge of possession of cocaine was dismissed.

•Lee Marvin Gordon, 37, 3023 New Haven Church Road, Danielsville, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $472 for theft by taking.

•Milton Jack Wilcher, 24, 36 Windy Ridge Drive, Danielsville, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $672 for possession of marijuana — less than an ounce.

•James Vernon Busbin Jr., 45, 92 Busbin Lane, Colbert, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $320 for deposit account fraud. A charge of theft by conversion was dismissed.

•Serena Violet Policastro, 33, 210 Amberly Drive, Hull, was sentenced to one year probation and fined $367 for driving away without paying for gas.

•Robert W. Wampole III, 40, 632 West Pine Grove Road, Fairplay, S.C., was sentenced to one day of jail and one year probation. He was also fined $941 for DUI. Charges of open container violation and failure to appear were dismissed.
