County commissioners learned Dec. 27 that the state government is now expecting counties to perform their own dam inspections.
“They (the state Department of Natural Resources) want us to do our own dam inspections,” said BOC chairman Anthony Dove to the county commissioners Dec. 27.
Dove said the state has been performing the inspections on an annual basis.
On a related note, the chairman said the state government is mandating that counties establish a liaison, or construction administrator, to go between the Department of Transportation and the companies contracted to perform road work in each county.
The state DNR also expects counties to have someone trained to respond to emergency situations with underground storage tanks, Dove said.
“The state seems to be putting more and more on the counties,” said commissioner Stanley Thomas, who added that hiring certified engineers to perform state-mandated work means “more costs on the taxpayers.”
Didn't think so.

Thank you in advance for your valuable time.
Why would Superior Court not rule with adequate data that prior BOA misunderstood this conservation tax thing or if law or "correct thing to do " where you knew person in say business endeavor then should not be voting to approve or disapprove.
Enough comments on this issue that makes me wonder if more of a issue than we think.
