Madison County’s sales tax revenues held steady in 2010, though they haven’t risen to pre-recession levels.
County commission chairman Anthony Dove announced Jan. 3 that the Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) generated $1,443,834 in 2010, up $17,300 from 2009. Meanwhile, the county received $1,974,662 in Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) revenue, up $23,000 from 2009.
