Man arrested after fight over Facebook
A Hull man was arrested recently after a domestic dispute that began over what he was viewing on Facebook.
James Russell Foster, 48, 5925 Hwy. 106 South, was charged with criminal trespass after officer Michael Moore was summoned to Foster’s residence twice within 15 minutes.
According to the incident report, the first time that officer Moore went to the residence was for an argument between Foster and his wife. His wife told Moore that Foster took the cable off of the computer so she couldn’t use it. She said the argument started over Foster looking at “18-year old females on Facebook” and he took the cable off so she couldn’t look at his links. Moore advised Foster at that time to put the cables back and for both of them to separate for a while.
A few moments later, officer Moore was summoned back to the residence where this time, Foster reportedly took the battery cables off of his wife’s 1989 Chevrolet van. His wife said he did this after Moore left the first time, before he came back in the house. When Moore spoke with Foster, he admitted that he did take the cables off so that his wife could not leave with the children, but that he had already put them back on. Moore had him open the hood where he observed fresh marks on the bolts holding the cables. At that point, officer Moore arrested Foster for criminal trespass and explained the TPO process to his wife.
In another incident, an Athens man was arrested after he allegedly burglarized a home on Bedford Drive last week. Ramin Mostafa Rouchi, 30, of 151 Harve Mathis Road, Athens, was charged with burglary and loitering.
According to the report, officer Josh Fowler was sent to the home where a woman told him she came home from work to find a window leading into her residence from the carport was half open. When she went inside, she found a Wii Nintendo was missing, along with a Verizon flip phone.
Other incidents on file at the sheriff’s office recently included:
•A woman on South Railroad Avenue reported that her husband had left voicemails and text messages of a threatening nature for her. She stated that she was not really sure if they were married, but that they have lived in a state of marriage for several years and that she is afraid of him. The TPO process was explained to her and her mother.
•Sexual battery was reported on Edgewood Drive. No other information was available.
•A woman on Allen Road reported that she thinks someone she knows took an MP3 player from her unlocked car while she was visiting. She said no one witnessed the theft, but she is certain the suspect took it.
•A woman on Joe Graham Road reported that prescription medication was taken from a lock box in her residence during a two-day period and that she suspects someone who lived with her and her husband previously.
•Simple battery FVA was reported on Colonial Drive last week after woman stated that her brother pushed her down for no reason and then left the residence headed to a residence on Harve Mathis Road that he is in the process of moving to. The woman told the responding officer she was in pain from the incident and EMS was called to assist, but she was not transported. She said she did want to press charges and she was explained the warrant procedure. The officer noted in his report that officers have responded numerous times to the same location in previous days due to domestic issues.
•Several mailboxes were reportedly damaged in the area of Woodale Street.
•Someone reported that their Visa debit card had been used fraudulently at First Madison Bank in Danielsville on four separate occasions, each time in the amount of $300. The customer’s account, through Regions Bank, was closed.
•A laptop and PS3 were reportedly stolen from a home on Woodale Street last week after someone broke the glass out of a back door of the residence.
•Arson was reported on James Spring Road after witnesses saw a vehicle burning off the roadway in the woods near a creek. The vehicle’s owner was from Clarkesville and he was contacted by phone about the arson, which completely destroyed the vehicle, according to the report. The owner said it had been left at his mother’s residence with the keys inside and that he was not aware that it had been stolen.
•A woman on Norwood Road reported that another woman, who is also “messing around” with her boyfriend, threw something at her car on Glenn Carrie Road. She said she turned around after that because she did not want the perpetrator to follow her to her home. As they were headed back toward Hwy. 72, the woman then allegedly got ahead of the victim and stopped in the middle of the road and blocked her car when she tried to turn around, striking her car on the side and causing minor damage. The victim said her 9-month-old child was in the car with her at the time.
•A woman on Moriah Church Road reported that a man owes her money for an order of graphic T-shirts she made up for him. She said he had paid her half the money as a deposit, then wrote her a check for the remaining $83.64 when he picked the shirts up, but then put a stop payment order on the check so she couldn’t get her money. She said she needed a report for warrant purposes. She said she had already contacted magistrate court.
•A woman on Young Harris Road reported that four-wheelers have been trespassing on her property, leaving tracks close to her house and also along the power line at the edge of her property.
•Two guns were reportedly stolen from a home on Evangelical Church Road last week. The perpetrator reportedly used a five-gallon bucket to gain entry through a window in a laundry room of the home.
•A man reported that someone had left threatening messages for him on Facebook. He said he and the man had problems over a girl back in high school, but that he has not seen the man for over 25 years. The man had left his phone number in one of the messages to the victim, so the officer called the number and told the man not to contact the victim anymore. The victim was advised of the warrant and TPO process and a report was placed on file.
•A man on Forest Lane reported that someone had taken his 1999 Honda four-wheeler and Snap On air compressor from under a shed in his backyard. It appeared to the officer that someone had pushed them to the road to load them. The victim was asked to supply VINs for both items.
•Two handfuls of nails were reportedly found in the common driveway of Northwood Circle.
•A woman concerned for the safety of a family member called 911 to report that she couldn’t get the family member to come to the door and that she had been sick the past of couple of days. She said the family member knew she was coming to take her to the hospital. The officer arrived and forced open the front door where he found a female walking around the rear of her home, naked. The woman started screaming at him to get out of her house as he asked her if she was OK. She also stated that she would “kill every m…..f…er there and then kill herself.” The caller said repeatedly that the woman was homicidal/suicidal. EMS treated the woman when she calmed down and transported her to the hospital.
•A woman on New Hope Church Road reported that someone had left a camper on her property with her permission, but that she had found the camper door pried open. It was unknown if anything was missing.
•A woman on Farm Road reported that a pit bull attacked her show pig last week. When she arrived home, she said she saw that the dog was in the pen with two different Yorkshire pigs. One of the pigs had to be euthanized, according to the report, and the other had an injury to its front leg. No contact was made at the time of the report with the dog or its owner, and animal control was advised of the situation.
•A woman on Farm Road reported that her husband had pulled a knife on her son during an argument over the TV remote control in the living room. The husband stated that he reached to get the remote to take the batteries out of them when the son “blew up” and started threatening him. He said the son was standing in front of him, pointing his finger in his face with one hand in his pocket and that he is known to carry a pocketknife. The husband said he grabbed a knife from the kitchen to defend himself, but never threatened to use it. The son said he would leave the residence for the night and the warrant and TPO process was explained to him and his mother, according to the report.
•Terroristic threats and acts were reported on Hwy. 191 after an officer met with three females who said another woman had been calling and threatening one of them. When another one of the women reportedly called the perpetrator and asked her to stop calling her friend, the perpetrator reportedly said on speakerphone that “someone should put a bullet in her (victim’s) head.” A report was also filed in Clarke and a TPO in Oglethorpe County regarding the incident, according to the report.
•Officer Burl Johnson responded to a domestic dispute on Colbert Diamond Hill Road last week where he found a woman lying on a mattress in the living room floor, unresponsive. A woman at the scene told him that her grandson had come to her residence and told her something was wrong with his mother and that he had heard his father arguing with her about medicine. After EMS arrived, the woman reportedly came to and did not understand why they were there. She told the officer that she had not been arguing with her husband, that she had gotten up this morning to feed her baby in the bedroom and then come into the living room to lie down and the next thing she knew, she woke up with officials there. She said her back, neck and legs were sore, but she didn’t know why. She was unsteady on her feet but refused medical attention and when asked if she was on any medication she became defensive and said “no,” according to the report. The witness said the woman had been choked but the child had could not confirm that that had happened. Another child that was at the residence visiting said she had seen the husband kicking the victim. There were no visible injuries on her, though the officer noted that she had “sores that are seen on people that use drugs.” The officer told the victim that he was concerned for the children and that he did not believe her story. DFACS was notified of the situation and the witness agreed to stay at the residence with the kids.
•A man on Drake Woods Road reported that someone had shot his dog in the leg. The responding officer noted what appeared to be a bullet to the dog’s right rear leg. The owner was unsure of where the dog was when it was shot.
•Child molestation was reported on Martin Griffeth Road last week. No further information was available.
•A woman in Hannah Heights said a person she knows stole her prescription medication from her bathroom. The suspect was reportedly dropping off her son’s friend to spend the night when the suspect and a companion asked to use the restroom. When the suspect came out of the bathroom, they left quickly. Thinking something wasn’t right, she checked her medications and found some missing. Her husband and son then attempted to block the road out of the subdivision and the suspects drove through the grass to leave in a silver BMW. They followed the BMW into Clarke County where Athens-Clarke police reportedly ordered them to stop following it. The woman’s son provided the name of the suspect and where he lives.
•A man on Norman Dove Road reported that someone took a generator from a trailer inside a chicken house used for storage.
•Harassing phone calls were reported on Mason Mill Road last week. According to the incident report, a man called to report that he and members of his family began receiving harassing and threatening phone messages and calls after he left court concerning his impending divorce. The man said he received a message in vulgar language threatening him and that several of the calls have been where someone either hangs up or leaves the line open without speaking and that this occurs at all times of the day. One of the threatening messages had a phone number attached that was not withheld and was shown to belong to his estranged’s wife’s step-brother.
•A woman on Scogin Road reported that parts were removed from a Ford Ranger that has been sitting under a shed in her backyard for some time. The responding officer noted that the truck was missing a front bumper, tailgate, both the driver and passenger doors, both front fenders and the hood.
•A range and a vacuum cleaner were reported stolen from a vacant home that is being repaired and cleaned on Brittany Pointe Drive.
•A woman met with an officer at Ingles last week to report that she believed her ex-boyfriend had been following her. She said she had picked up her daughter on Acorn Road and that when they turned onto Hwy. 29 South, her daughter noticed a black car behind them. She said the vehicle followed them to Bryce Landing, where she pulled over and the car went past. She said it was a black Monte Carlo like the one driven by her ex-boyfriend and that a short time later he called her from a private number. She said he is not supposed to contact her in any way, though there is no legal paperwork concerning this. She requested the report for documentation purposes.
•A woman on Charlie Bolton Road reported that a man she knew came to her residence though he knew he wasn’t welcome there. She they started to argue and that as he was leaving he grabbed his cane, drawing it back as if to hit her. She said he did not hit her but that she feared for her safety. He then got into his SUV and left the residence.
