Friends of Advantage will hold a benefit dress sale Friday and Saturday, March 4-5, in the Cypress Room of the Classic Center in Athens.
The “address a Need” event will begin at 10 a.m. both days and end at 8 p.m. Friday and 6 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $5.
Friends of Advantage is a non-profit organization that supports Advantage Behavioral Health Systems in providing mental health, addictive disease and developmental disability services to a 10-county area, including Madison County.
The benefit dress event gives local high school students and community members the opportunity to purchase new and gently used formal dresses, shoes, purses and jewelry for proms and other formal events for children and adults. Dress prices start at $20 each, organizers said. Several head-to-toe prom makeover scholarships will also be awarded.
Organizers say all proceeds will go to purchase furniture and infrastructure for Advantage’s a new Homeless Day Service Center “One Stop Shop” project that will focus on fighting poverty and homelessness within Advantage’s service area.
