Three stabbed at card game gone wrong
Aggravated assault warrants have been issued for three people wounded in a knife fight during a card game at a residence on Hwy. 72 East near Carlton March 5.
According to the incident report, officer Brandon Hanley met with three people at the Comer Kangaroo station Saturday, one with stab wounds to his face and abdomen. EMS was called to the scene to treat the injuries. The victim’s girlfriend told Hanley that they were at a party when the suspect allegedly called her a b*^%@ and a fight broke out. Officers traveled to a location on Kudzu Road in an attempt to locate the suspect, but instead they encountered the suspect’s brother, who told them that he was at the incident location, but did not see what happened because he was asleep and did not know where his brother was.
He also said his brother had been “jumped on” and that the argument was actually over people cheating at the card game. Officers then went to the incident location, where they found blood in the front yard, and once inside, blood on the walls and a large amount of blood on the floor. The living room was in disarray with chairs knocked over, the couch broken and playing cards all over the floor. The officer also noted that there was blood in the kitchen sink where someone had attempted to clean up. Two more victims were located at Athens Regional Medical Center, according to chief deputy Shawn Burns. None of the wounds were life-threatening, Burns added.
In another incident, a Royston woman was arrested after a homeowner found her, partially naked, on his front porch at 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
Diana Starr Coile, 30, of 1660 Roach Road, was charged with public drunkenness, public indecency, possession of drug-related objects, prescription drugs must be in original container and sale, distribution, or possession of dangerous drugs.
According to the incident report, officer Alan Stratton responded to the scene at a home on Hwy. 98 East in Danielsville where he found Coile, naked from the waist down. Stratton asked her to cover herself with a jacket she was holding and noted she was unsteady on her feet and that her speech was extremely slurred. He also noted that she did not make any sense or know where she was. She told Stratton the last thing she remembered was that she was asleep in the back of her vehicle. Officers searched the area and later found the vehicle on Sunset Drive, where they also located drugs and drug paraphenalia.
