The county industrial authority voted March 21 to award Griffin Brothers a contract to expand county water lines in the Neese area, contingent on the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority’s (GEFA) approval of a $2.14 million grant/loan package for the project later this month.
Griffin Brothers turned in a bid of $1,563,938, the lowest of 16 bids for the project, which includes installing water lines down Neese Diamond Hill Road, across Hwy. 106 South, then down Neese Commerce Road to Hwy. 98 West, where there will be a tie-in with the city of Commerce at the county line. Water lines will also be extended from Neese-Diamond Hill Road down Hwy. 29 South to Bryant Drive.
