A Madison County man was recently sentenced in Madison County Superior Court to three years confinement for child molestation.
Eddie Martin Cowan, 50, 190 Tommy James Road, Hull, was also sentenced to seven years probation and fined $1,475. Three counts of cruelty to children were dismissed.
Other actions filed recently in the office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Madison County include:
•Tony Devon Bullins, 51, 2415 Diamond Hill Neese Road, Hull, was sentenced to one year probation and fined a total of $539 for battery under the Family Violence Act and obstruction of officers.
•Christopher Jerry Cronic, 38, 2557 Hwy. 29 South, Colbert, was sentenced to six years confinement, 14 years probation for six counts of burglary. He was also fined $5,100. Four counts of criminal damage to property in the second degree and three counts of theft by taking were dismissed.
•Terry James Hughes, 46, 141 Rogers Mill Road, Danielsville, was sentenced to one year confinement, four years probation and fined $1,077 for theft by receiving stolen property.
•Richard Emmitte Porterfield, 36, 196 Dyer Road, Danielsville, was sentenced to three years confinement, seven years probation and fined $2,300 for two counts of possession of methamphetamine. Two charges of possession of tools for the commission of a crime were dismissed.
•James Edward Sims Jr., no age available, G.C.D.C. 2900 University Parkway, was sentenced to three years confinement, seven years probation and was fined a total of $2,900 for possession, manufacture or distribution of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and possession of a schedule IV controlled substance.
•Danny Evans, no age or address available, was sentenced to one year confinement for simple battery under the Family Violence Act.
•Alfredo Torres-Soto, 22, 1355 Graves Road, Norcross, was sentenced to seven years probation and fined $1,150 for possession of methamphetamine. Charges of possession of tools for the commission of a crime and possession of marijuana (less than an ounce) were dismissed.
