Cash register, beer, cigarettes stolen from Tiny Town

Derrick Dejong Winn, 40, of 1226 Georgia White Road, Elberton, was charged with two counts of felony burglary after he was located on Aug. 7 following a “BOLO” (be on the lookout) for him using surveillance footage photos from the store.

According to the incident report, Deputy Jason Luke was dispatched to an alarm call at Tiny Town about 1 a.m. on Aug. 4. When he arrived Luke discovered that the full glass front door had been broken. Once back up arrived, deputies and the store owner went inside to determine what was missing.

Deputies then reviewed the store’s surveillance video, which showed a tall, black male wearing a green T-shirt and khaki shorts drive up to the store in a champagne colored Lincoln Town Car, or Mercury Grand Marquis and then break the front glass door with a piece of granite rock.
A “BOLO” was sent to surrounding counties with a description of the suspect and the car.
