The expansion of the Madison County Library is under way.
Construction equipment is on site. And preliminary site preparation is being done.
“After this week, there will be a lot of construction going on,” said Mike Moak, chairman of the Madison County Library Board of Trustees.
The expansion project will increase the library’s size from 10,000 to 17,500 square feet. The library now holds 32,226 books, audio and visual materials. The expansion will give the facility a 100,000 capacity for such materials.

If they want to keep that beautiful oak tree by the Victory Garden they better keep heavy equipment off its root system; that would be three feet beyond the drip line, not where they have the orange fencing.
